I'm not the best when it comes to writing but I do have some tips for anyone who may be a beginner or trying to improve how they tell their stories!!! Tip 1: Use dialogue! Dialogue can help portray more emotion and make a story feel more alive! If a character is non-human and doesn't speak in the story or is mute/nonverbal; use sounds! Describe sounds they make to communicate or even describe/use sign language! Tip 2: Make rough drafts and generally just plan things out before starting your semi-final/final product! Rough drafts can help when it comes to just getting all your ideas out and planning so you don't have to make stuff up along the way or rush! (use bullet points too!) :3 Tip 3: Have inspiration! Read books or short comics that inspire you, trust me; it makes the process MUCH easier! Or even use a mood board/photo collage to make the overall aesthetic for your story come to life in your mind!
Tip 4: Have a schedule and write/practice writing daily! If you have a consistent schedule for writing your book/story/etc then you will improve and even finish your writing faster if you're on a time limit! Tip 5 FINAL TIP :D : Don't let perfectionism get the better of you, remember that everyone has a different writing level and style. If you spend your whole writing process comparing yourself to others and constantly chasing perfection, you will never be fully happy with your work. Of course its okay to want perfection in your art, just make sure that its a HEALTHY amount of wanting perfection! That's all, I just got kinda bored and wanted to share these, I have been writing stories for about 2 1/2 ish years now and I believe I have room to improve yet I'm still happy with my work!
