The next parts will take care of how all cats age and rank in Of Birds and Cats, showing when this happens, the restrictions, and more. Please read both projects! Music by @Ym2612 -- ~ This is different to Warrior Cats, so there are different rules. ~ This information is split into two projects, birds and cats. Birds project is linked at the end of the N&C. -- Note: You can use Warrior Cats and OBAC/regular terms interchangeably. Refer to the OBAC rules (different project) for more information. -- ~ Everything is usually recorded in moons (months) ~ Season changes every 3 moons ~ 1 moon passes every Saturday, or Friday in a different timezone ~ The seasons are greenleaf, leaffall, leafbare and newleaf (summer, autumn, winter, spring) ~ Thorn is the leader, and the leader is Thorn. This changes if Thorn dies ~ Cats start off as kits when born ~ Kits cannot go out of the kit spot (an area marked by bushes and soft ground) until they are 2 moons old ~ Kits cannot go out of the main area (where all the cats live) until they are 6 moons old ~ When they are six moons old, they become mature kits and Thorn will announce so ~ Mature kits can go outside the main area now, but must be supervised by an adult cat until they are 8 moons old ~ Mature kits must be trained at least once a moon, this may happen in a RP thread or out of one (it happens, but it isn't roleplayed) ~ They can be trained more than once a moon if they like ~ Mature kits must ask adults to train, adults cannot ask the kits if they want to train ~ Mature kits are trained in stealth, fighting, defense, exercise-based and advanced training (swimming, climbing etc.) lessons. They must be trained in all of these. For advanced training, they only have to train one skill to qualify as trained in advanced training. ~ The advanced training skills are: - swimming - climbing - advanced fighting - reflexes - endurance - Thorn's Wishes (if you want to train this, you must ask permission from the owner @OfBirdsandCats either in profile comments or in a CRP with Thorn (which you also must ask for)) ~ If a mature kit reaches 12 moons and has trained all 5 major lessons, they become an adult cat and Thorn will announce so. ~ If a mature kit reaches 12 moons but has not completed the lessons, they will become a novice cat and will only become an adult once the lessons are completed. ~ Adult cats may do anything they wish to that younger cats and novices can't, but they must follow the leader's (Thorn's) rules/words ~ If adult, novice or mature kits break the leader's word too much, they may get exiled and cannot join back until the leader allows them to ~ Novice cats have the same limits and lessons as mature kits, but novices have less limits, nearly as much as full adults: - They may train any time they like - They can enter places with the "Thorn's" in it (Thorn's Clearing, Thorn's Stone, Thorn's Cave), these places are ranked at level 1 of sacred. - They can also enter bird territory, but nothing with "Stripe's" in it, these are also level 1 sacred. ~ By the way, novices are not adults. They are as old as adults, but they are not officially full adults. ~ If an adult reaches 24 moons, they may choose to become a medicine/healer cat. If they choose so, they enter 10 moons of training (one lesson every moon) by a full medicine cat. ~ After the 10 moons of healer training, Thorn takes them to a level 2 sacred place called The Star Pond, created after Hailstorm heard Whisker's story. Over there, Thorn announces to the pond that links to the stars, that this trained adult has become a medicine cat. ~ If an adult reaches 72 moons, they become seniors. ~ If an adult reaches 72 moons but have served greatly in their history for the Clan (such as fighting in a Great (lvl 3) War or higher level, or making a change in the relationship of birds and cats), they don't become anything, but they are guaranteed to become great seniors at 96 moons. ~ Medicine cats cannot become seniors or great seniors at all, not even elders. They must work until they are 150 moons old. At that time, they may choose to continue working, or become star elders. ~ Seniors may become great seniors at 96 moons if the leader allows so. ~ Seniors and great seniors do not have any limits, but they have benefits: - They eat before everyone else (except for elders which eat first before EVERYONE else) - They are cared for first by medicine/healer cats - They may enter level 1 sacred areas in the bird territory ~ Once seniors/great seniors reach 110 moons, they become elders. ~ Elders do not have to fight, they always eat first and novices and adults sometimes care for them by picking ticks/collecting prey for them/cleaning their area etc. ~ Elders may die from old age at 125-152 moons ~ After 153 moons, elders instantly perish, unless under Thorn's Hope or any level 4+ hopes/codes, in which they will live up to 299 moons.
Continued... -- ~ When kits are born, you can start a litter project in the Litter Hub studio. More on that in the studio (coming soon) ~ Free-roamers follow the same structure, but they do not become seniors or elders and aren't trained until they join The Thistles ~ If an adult reaches 50 moons and has helped to train a mature kit in at least 3 lessons, the leader might rank up that adult into the deputy. Medicine cats cannot become deputy, but that is up to the leader. ~ Deputies help the leader assign jobs and patrols, and can also help with planning stuff. There can only be one deputy, and they are like co-leaders ~ Deputies do not become seniors, but it is their choice if they want to become elders. ~ When the leader dies, deputies, with the help of medicine cats, go to the Greater Star Pond (level 3 sacred) to become leader. Unlike Warrior Cats, they do not receive 9 lives. Or that is what they think... ~ At the Greater Star Pond, the deputy has a vision - a direct vision from the stars. The cats of the sky help the deputy choose if they want to keep or change current Codes or Hopes, and at the end, the deputy is officially a leader, after a ceremony made by the cats. ~ What happens at the Star Pond is partially known. Even though the new medicine cat doesn't see a vision, some cats think that the granted power is from the stars above. ~ But what happens at the Greater Star Pond is still unknown. The ceremony stated above is something Thorn said when he became leader. Some cats think it's the truth, but others say it's not. "Is there really cats in the stars?" Sunset once said. "Is Whisker really there?" The truth is yet to be told. Will you be part of it? Join our RP! -- Birds project! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1258853361/
