Ch.17: “Care” Luna watched every move the Crewmates made. Since she couldn’t tell their species yet, every strange move made her suspicious of them. At times she would notice something really weird about one of the Crewmates, so she’d try to get Velvet out of the room as quickly as possible. She came to realise that she was being quite paranoid. It wasn’t like her to be paranoid. Another thing she came to realise was that Dianne— one of the Crewmates Luna was eyeing— spent a lot of time with Velvet. Velvet must have trusted her a lot to tell her his secret, and they must have had a pretty good relationship. Luna of course thought this was very suspicious. She stalked Dianne the most. But nothing evil came of her. “Who’s that tan Crewmate, Velvet?” Luna asked Velvet one night before he went to bed. “Oh, Dianne?” Velvet smiled a little. “Sh-she’s a really good friend of mine.” “You must trust her a lot to tell her that secret of yours.” “…w-wait… how…” Luna smiled. “How do you think Axel cursed you, Velvet?” she waited, and with no response but a shocked expression, she continued, “He was using me as a power source. A battery.” “O-oh… I had no idea…” “I know.” “Should I tell Dianne?” Luna hesitated. It was a moment before she spoke again. “Velvet, do you think Dianne is an Imposter?” “What? No!” “Something tells me there is another Imposter on this ship.” “Yes, there is; we’ve had kills before you got here. But it isn’t Dianne.” Luna nodded. “Since Axel’s been draining my power, I’ve lost my ability to differentiate between Crewmates and Imposters. I am recovering: it should be a few days before I am fully recovered. When I am, I will tell you which of your crewmembers is an Imposter.” “A-alright.” With that, Luna and Velvet both went to bed. The next day Luna continued her repetitive behaviour of stalking Velvet and his crewmembers, when finally, it was time to land on Polus. It was the afternoon on the planet, bright and freezing cold. The crew had stopped at a research facility near the lava, which belonged to the ICSC. The buildings were green-ish, grey, or grey-blue in colour, and deteriorating. Some of them which were crumbling had vines of strange plants growing on them. Snow and purple dirt lay between the buildings. Luna stayed in the ship. She couldn’t come out, not with the other Crewmates shuffling around the area like bees in a hive. Instead, Luna watched them from the window. They all seemed to have this certain vibe to them— a vibe Luna picked up as diligent. It was then that she noticed that Velvet was passing nearby with Dianne. It looked like they were holding hands and talking. All of a sudden, Dianne laughed at something Velvet said and hugged him. She watched as they made their way to another building, disappearing behind its crumbling bricks. Luna smiled. She was glad Velvet had someone to love.
I know Luna doesn't specifically ask if all of those beans are Imposters, but I drew it that way because that's what they were thinking, and that is what they implied :) Also Copper looks a bit like Pecan, lol Comments are appreciated!
