Really close to chapter 10 guys Tw: bullying and a cliffhanger
MONDAY: As me and Autumm walk into school, I remember that I'm really, really hungry. So I shoot them a look and we walk to the breakfast line. As we eat i decide now would be a good time to ask, "hey Autumm?" "Mhm?" "Do you have any plans this weekend?" They stare at me with a mouthful of food. "Huh?" "Autumm, i'm asking if you wanna hang out this weekend?" They stare at me some more before grinning like a maniac. "Ohmygoshohmygosh ofcourse!!! We just have to go to that Café that just opened on Walnut street!!" They seem so excited, and it makes me really happy. We go to our first class, and then our second, separate for our third and fourth, and come back together for our fifth, sixth, and seventh. Now we're at our last class of the day. As we walk in, its strangely... silent. Like, people are there, but they aren't acting like they usually do. Weiiirrrdddd.. We take our seats and still, nothing. The teacher walks in and starts the lesson I'm wearing my new tail so I can stim with it during class. I start hearing whispers, I get a little nervous. Then, something hits the back of my head. It didn't hurt but it freaked me out. I turn around so see people purposely avoiding eye contact and giggling, and I sigh. Another paper ball hits the back of my head, and I ignore it. But.. then another hits, and another, then two at once, Autumm wakes up from their nap and sees whats going on and they're fuming, just as they stand up to do something the teacher slams his marker on the table. "You five. Out." He motions to the door. It turns out it was five kids that had orchestrated this whole thing, the popular girls had put them up to it, and they thought it would be funny. They had over fifty paper balls in all of their bags combined. So they were ready to take that "joke" to the next level. I wasn't really angry, just sad. But, its the last class of the day, and this teacher is really chill, so I'll make it out alive. The final bell rings and me and Autumm are yapping as we get on the bus. About our plans to hang out. Then, I have an idea. "Autumm!! What if we have a sleepover??" They light up, and agree a million times. They're parents are super chill and will definitely say yes and my dad doesn't really care so it'll be fine with him. We agree that on Saturday, at 3pm, Autumm will come over to my house, drop off their stuff, and then we'll both go out public gearing and get food, then we'll come back to my house and watch movies and talk, and at 5pm the next day, they'll leave. That leaves a whole day which we dont know what to do with too! We giggle about plans until the bus pulls at their stop, we say goodbye, and then they leave. As I'm waiting to get home, I decide to check my phone. 17 missed calls. From.. Josh? Oh yeah, he doesn't have school today, so he probably got bored and decided to prank me or something. But.. the messages he sent.. "Get home right now. It's actually urgent" or "please pick up your phone" As the bus pulls into my stop I race into my house, the door was already unlocked. Josh sees me and runs over to me, looking panicked. "Where were you??" He's almost shouting. "I was at school?? What's going on??" He take a deep breath, before speaking words I never wanted to hear.. "Woodchip is missing." Dun dun DUNNNNN End of chapter 9
