(click/space/right arrow) my family doesn’t quite Christmas. but as coincidental presents i got some ink I’ve wanted for a long time and a new pen and MAN i’m overjoyed. you may be able to infer that i'm an iroshizuku fanboy. The inks are beautiful and non-finicky, but let's be for real the gorgeous (and amazingly functional. and despite being pricey.) bottles are the deciding factor for it being my favourite line. They mog every other generic ink bottle. Also it was absolutely criminal of Pilot to discontinue both tsukushi and kirisame. T__T (i theorise Yorushika fans buying bottles for their merch shrines are the sole reason tsukiyo hasn't been discontinued. all the other blues look to be way more popular amongst fountain pen lovers)
Song: Ainijou (Deep Indigo) - Yorushika expect to see lots of inked drawings in any future art dumps i vow to make FULL use of my goodies - THE PART WHERE I EXHIBIT MY MILD AUTISM - I'm happy i got my hands on tsukiyo after the 八月、某、月明かり MV released so that I could draw this in what i personally think of as Amy’s most canon appearance (since it's the only video his face isn't mostly-obscured in) Over a year ago, one of my yorushika-fan besties pointed out to me that ainijou kinda sounds like "i need you", and its parallel song from the elma album Yuu Ichijou sounds like "you, it's you" and bruh i have never forgotten that. n-buna making ainijou mean i^2, indigo squared, love squared, and grief squared all at once was a genius play but if oomf's speculation is correct then this man is truly shakespeare's second coming. anyway let's also talk about n-buna usage of i^2 when it came to the storytelling of amy and elma's tragedy. it's an imaginary number, √-1 as you know, so squaring it just gets you to -1. In 六月は雨上がりの街を描く(ofc, written from Amy's perspective after isolating himself in Sweden, since it's in the dakaboku album) we have a lyric that translates to "my life is now i^2, subtracting you left me below zero". amy = 0 since through his words he reallyyyy obviously saw himself as worthless, and elma = 1 (100%) since she was his everything before he abandoned her to live out his final year alone. that brings us back to bsf's speculation of ainijou intending to sound like "i need you", since Amy realised too late he, well... needs Elma in his life. and you know because this dude was _YEARNING_ through some of ainijou's lyrics (also written from his perspective, as a dakaboku song). but prior to that 六月 lyric i thought the metaphor was more like: amy = √-1 and elma also =√-1, as a reflection of both of them kinda being lowkey dysfunctional (his resentment that contributed to his downfall (lol), and her sentimentalism that led to an identity crisis after trying to cling too tight onto Amy's memory), and the anguish they both were left with that thus, culminated into a net-negative value for... (what am i saying bru) ... this is all the yapping i will do for now, probably nothing made sense but idc since this isn't an essay. however i have *LOTS* more in my brain about elma and amy this is only the start of it. Thanks nabuna for inventing doomed straight situationships. Your goated multi-media methods of storytelling have ruined my life. Why did you read all that
