Annican woke up the next morning, and immediately thought ‘Sky’. How did he just guess her real name? Or was it just a nickname? Or was it someone ELSE who just inconveniently had the name? He was going to try to ignore it. He was going to classes today! Finally! Classes! He checked his schedule. He had - and in this order exactly - Breakfast Element class. Shapeshifting class. Lunch Spell class Cloak-making class Leather-working Dinner Why leather-working? And cloak-making class? Perhaps it was to open doors for future jobs here? Either way, it was going to be busy. He was excited, though. He was going to shapeshift into a cat again for his walk to elemental class. Maybe she would recognize him then. His first class was at 9:30, and at the moment, it was 9:27, so he would shapeshift now and begin the walk. He took a deep breath, then searched for the tug. Once he felt it, tingles shot through his whole body. Goosebumps popped up on his skin, then he was a cat. He found a mirror and discovered he looked the same as last time, he loved the rings on his tail, and he absolutely LOVED this cat form. He flicked his tail and was off. After a couple minutes, he was there. At the front doors. As a cat. Behind him, as he sat there, staring up at the (in this form) ginormous doors, he heard a female meow. “We’re in the same class!” The voice said. And there she was. Now beside him. Her pelt brushing his. Her blue eyes gleaming. Sky. “We are.” He meowed back awkwardly. She laughed. “Are you going in or what?” She asked teasingly. “Oh, I'll show you!” He replied jokingly. He shapeshifted back into his human form, and so did Sky. He still had two minutes before class. Well, roughly two minutes. So he spent this time studying her human form. She had the same piercing blue eyes, and had long blond hair. She was wearing her black cloak - which she had flipped the hood down - and lavender colored leggings. She had a golden circular locket. That must be where she holds her element… wind. She smiled warmly at him “oh, quit the staring!” She said teasingly. He immediately felt his face flush and he spun around and pushed opened the doors, revealing a big, rectangular room with plain black walls, tile flooring, and a desk at the front, presumably the teacher's desk. A couple students he didn't know were there, and a tired looking man sitting at the desk. He waved Annican over, and he obeyed. The man reached out a hand. “You must be…. Jake?” He asked, seeming unsure of himself. “Uh- no. I'm Annican.” He said awkwardly. “It's okay though, no big deal, we all make mistakes” he added quickly, not wanting to start off with making his new teacher embarrassed. “Ah, sorry about that. Jake must be late, then.” His teacher said, “Also, I am Sir. Tondala”. Annican just nodded and instinctively went to Sky’s side. She smirked at him “oooh, you came to my side? Instinctively? Why is that?” She asked teasingly. He just shook his head and laughed quietly, knowing anything he would say - could say - would make it worse. Mr. Tondala clapped his hands together. “Alright class, do all of you have your elements in a piece of jewelry or have you drunk it?” He asked. Annican spoke hesitantly, embarrassed to his core. “I haven't yet.” He said nervously as all eyes turned to him. 26 pairs of eyes watched him, including Sky’s. “Then I suggest you do that. Do you want it in jewelry?” Mr. Tondala asked. “No, that's okay. I'll just drink it.” Annican replied. He pulled out his potion-thing - electricity - and drank it. It was a thin liquid and was neon blue, an eyeball scorching blue. It had a big tang to it and tasted like an extremely spicy pepper, but not with the same heat, though also had a sharp sour flavor that he couldn't compare to anything he'd ever tasted. Once he finished the agonizing contents, the bottle evaporated. Yes. Evaporated. Like water. By the laughter on Sky’s face, he guessed he looked as if he had taken a bite out of a lemon while he was drinking it. Mr. Tondala flicked his wrist “You may begin training! Make sure to keep a STRAIGHT line and try to hit the target. Before you hit the target or at least attempt to, call out your element name and then strike. Do not stand near the target at any time under any circumstances. Make sure to stand at LEAST 3 feet away from the person shooting. That is all.” People lined up, and Annican found himself in front of Sky, he could feel her eyes on him. He couldn't see what was happening at the front of the line, since he was so far back, but it didnt take long before he was four people away from shooting. Then three. Then two. One. Then, it was his turn.. He nervously brought his hands in front of him, then called out “electricity!” and closed his eyes, then searched his core for a new tug, hoping he wouldn't end up shapeshifting instead. Then, suddenly, his palms heated up, and started to get itchy.
He opened his eyes just in time to see lightning shoot out of his palms and hit the Bullseye. His hands stopped itching, and no longer felt as if he had dipped them in lava. He let out a breath and went to the back of the line. This continued until a bell rang, signaling the end of class. Sky caught up to him in the halls. “Next up, shapeshifting!”
