TRANSCRIPT There is a glaring problem with S-pop at the moment. The one that, at least partially, resulted in the old studio being deleted. One that continues to make those in the community uncomfortable and even consider leaving the community altogether. Two words. Being inappropriate. I’ve tried to express this before when I made the attempt to create a new aesthetic community. Part of the rules said, “don't be unhinged or inappropriate, that's how you get banned and timed out. this isn't pin.” At the time, Pin was the most widely used and mentioned form of communication outside of Scratch in the main relevant community (the niche comm at the time). But now, in the S-pop community, there are others mentioned, including Pin but also Z3P, Bl, etc. And, even there, people are making “freaky” jokes and statements. A quick reminder: SCRATCH IS INTENDED FOR *CHILDREN* AGE *EIGHT* AND UP. And in the guidelines: “It’s important to keep your creations and conversations friendly and appropriate for all ages.” See that?! “APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES.” I am not asking for any sort of unwarranted hate on the people that do this. We shouldn’t assume that they’re evil or anything like that. They’re human. But being human does not excuse them from accountability. As James Madison, 4th president of the United States, once said, “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.” And this might come off as indelicate, but the people in the S-pop community are generally NOT angels whatsoever. So we need to work on our government. What I believe needs to happen is real consequences. Normalizing reporting these comments and not letting people off scot-free just because they are your friends or because they are famous. Not treating warnings as mere nuisances just because they stop you from commenting. Adding an actual countdown / cooldown to the studio. THE MANAGERS HOLDING THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE. Thank you for listening to the very end. If you have any suggestions, please comment them!
P. S. This includes the discussion of "Y/N x CEO" jokes, Yooni x Ena jokes, "ts" (it does not stand for "this".), and discussion of inappropriate personal topics (you know what? I will name names. For instance, Hika and her previous... situation which she spoke about in the S-pop studio a few days ago). Merry Christmas.
