•The subspecies are mostly just a physical description. •For some reason, B.J. Borealis is reduced to atoms. (As in my drawing of them, not the species, then it would have gotten a lot more attention to suddenly poomph into thin air) •Western Red-Tailed Hawk [Buteo Jamaicencis Calurus]: The Wingspan is usually 3 ft 5 inches to 4 ft 10 inches. Adults are shown to be rangier And darker than the Eastern Red-Tailed Hawks. Pale individuals have a richer tawny color sometimes with a light Rufous color on the chest or neck, A heavily streaked chest And belly band, A brownish throat, Dark barring on the flanks, A well defined 'V' On the back and sometimes A tail with a good amount barring. These hawks are well distributed, and put with the eastern species, occupy about 75% of the breeding range of red tails in North America. •Eastern Red-Tailed Hawk [Buteo Jamaicencis Borealis]: The wingspan is somewhere around 4 feet. This subspecies only has pale morphs And always has a Whitish ground color with barely any barring at all, but it does have a variable present dark necklace (as in markings), an absent or reduced belly band, And little to no barring on flanks and upper legs. Falconry is the ancient practice of hunting wild game by means of a trained raptor; this raptor is not trained for pets nor praise, but it's survival. If you wish to follow this forum to do falconry in near or far future, do not expect it to be easy when or if you ever gain hands-on experience. It is a LIFE COMMITMENT. I haven't had any experience yet, but I wanted to put this disclaimer for you all. This message will be put on all notes & credits of this forum. If you are going to put a project up for the purpose of this forum, please copy and paste this into your notes & credits somewhere. Fun Fact: Red-Tailed hawks appear in kids shows like "Secret Life of Pets" [the Hawk named Tiberius] and Rango [as a well known monster Rango kills, much to my horror, hoping he'd tame it. At least the narrators were Mexican Burrowing Owls]
