I made some of my biggest stuff this year, so this is a lot of assets (1000+). View it in Turbowarp if you have issues: https://turbowarp.org/1259680937 And, you may have better luck loading it on another browser like firefox. The first AMV I posted in 2025 was a lore AMV for kauliflowr (another one may come soon) teasing future and past events. I made it in about an hour or two, on new year's eve. The AMVs I made in early 2025 were abundant. I experimented a ton and really pushed myself. One of my most creative was my part in the my time MAP, posted on March 25th. On April 18th, I posted my most ambitious video yet, I'm not crying. I think this multimedia video made some waves in the AMV community; I kept seeing some similar techniques for months after. I submitted it to an IRL competition and made the podium. It is one of my best works of all time. AMVs after this point were sparse but pretty well in their own right. Eventually I got to a point where they were months apart; but at this point my largest and one of my most experimental AMVs, magicman, was posted. In magicman, I tried to expand on the style I developed in my animations at this point, something between surrealism, simplicity, and cubism. TrusT, posted on August 14th, isn't my best but it's one of my favorites. I'm very satisfied with the quality and design. After this I did make a couple AMVs, but put most of my time towards developing kauliflowr, and developing a very ambitious project. As a portfolio piece, on December 5th I posted Estranger ↻. It was a redo of a very old AMV I made that was still receiving praise, and I poured some of my identity and my best skills into this new project. It is the best AMV I have ever made. After that was finished, I finished a MAP part and added onto someone else's to wrap up the whole of 2025. Surprisingly I only made 15 AMV or AMV-adjacent projects this year. But I'm resolutely proud of each and every one that I made.
Enough about my year. I'd love to give a great thanks to the AMV community. (I'll post this message somewhere else for the people who can't load in the animation) This year was an absolute blur. I might be going through autistic burnout. I really didn't engage with the community for a while, and I've had some major inactivity on scratch (and third-party animation servers). I never really felt connected to anyone online to be honest, because I've been in a weird mindset for interactions. I never took the time to notice just how little of each other we actually see of each other in any online space. Just this past week, I actually noticed, I'm part of a community. There are real people I get to connect with. Real conversations I get to have. The people who make AMVs here are living souls, not just usernames and accounts, sharing their art for the world to see. I'm stating the obvious; but it isn't obvious to anyone caught up in a misty version of the world. These people have really cool experiences and art they get to share, and that I can share with. And I have art and experiences I can share. Communities are built on this stuff, where people get together to share a piece of themselves. I want to thank everyone in the AMV community. This is a really strong community that I once thought would die. It's not big enough for people to be too hungry for attention, and it's not small enough that nobody feels connected. It's a great niche. I'm astounded with all of the people who were able to come together this year. If you're not feeling very connected, then it really isn't too late for you to reach out a little more. A huge thank you to many of the animators that I know have made great contributions this year, whether by leadership, example, or experimentation: And, I give my deepest gratitude to these and the many other people who all join together to build some really cool projects. Every time I see a new design. Every time I see great scale. Every time I see deep imagination. Every time I see something spectacular shoved into a frankly terrible animation software, I am filled with such great awe. It is overwhelming to delve into all the AMVs on this website, and this year has marked some of the best AMVs this site has to offer. It keeps me going sometimes that I can see this in such a cozy little niche. Happy new year, everybody.
