I’ve been seeing the yearly art summary trend go around again, and seeing that my next project will probablyyyy take a hot second (theme song pieces how I love and loathe you…..), decided that now would be as good of a time as ever to join in on it! Also as per usual ignore the quality I will fix it soon trust This year has been an. EXTREMELY insane year for me oh my god. Several crashouts, many identity crises, an extremely messy breakup, and like 5 realizations about my life / myself later, the end of the year is finally in sight, which honestly I couldn’t be happier about because once more 2025 has been a very wild year for the quill!!!! Despite all that though, it’s also had a lot of good moments. I’ve learned to be way more open with my interests, got to go to my first concert (which was also by my favorite artist / band WE WIN), finally got my n24 diagnosis, moved to this account, and overall just made more of an active effort to focus on myself and my mental health. And in the mix of all that, there’s also been my art as well, the focus of this project. For some time now, and especially for 2023 and 2024, I’ve felt like my art seldom improves much over the course of the year. I’ve always felt that my art has a giant spike in improvement at the beginning and end of the year, but then goes nowhere for most of the year, save for maybe one or two more minor improvements. For 2025 though, I’m happy to say that I don’t really see that same pattern anymore. Throughout the entire year, my art’s been on a steady path to improvement, whether it be proportions, rendering, lineart, whatever. Between January and December, I feel like almost every aspect of it’s improved, and I couldn’t be happier with that. I’ve been able to be consistently proud with my art throughout the entirety of 2025, almost always able to see improvements between this month and the last. Every year I try to make an art resolution for myself, so for this year, I’ve decided that resolution is gonna be angles, poses, and composition. I do think I’m already pretty decent with the latter two, however my creativity in terms of poses could use some work, and the same can be said for composition. Diversifying my angles is always something I’ve struggled with, so gonna attempt to work on that too! Here’s to hoping for a good 2026 for not just me, but also everybody else. If not good, then at least mundane, because dear god has so many insane things happened these last 12 months :’))
