lately, over the past few years, scratch has ben changing i've been using scratch for at least five years now ( on different accounts ) and, honestly, its kinda sad how much its changed although i dont remember much about what the old versions looked like, there are some things i'm positive have widly changed: ❁ updates ❁ server space ❁ and, unfortunately, rules yes, the st does resolve many cases, and im not saying otherwise; however, like practically everything else, theres TONS of room for improvement. recently, there has been a case of a user asking other female users for private info and pics* - however, neither his acc he used OR his main seem to have been banned. in fact, a user and supporter of the harrassed victims created a slideshow explaining what happened - and the st took it down (?) for 'disrespecting another scratcher.' this user uploaded an image of the exact message that the st gave, saying that 'they would resolve the situation' and that the user should not intefere directly with the problem. i find this extremely unfair. since last year, when i became more active on scratch, looking for a welcoming, safe and secure community, i realised that things had begun to shift. the st was growing more and more careless about these kinds of situations and using a bot to flag projects like the previously mentioned user created to deem them 'disrespectful.' in fact, the st probably didnt actually review the problem themselves. as an extra side-note, comment bans? really? just for accidentally including social media names?? this is just legit crazy and intolerable, at least just use smth to flag it DURING writing, not banning for 10 mins afterwards. the fact that the st is adopting stricter rules but simultaneously directing these rules to the wrong people - by or upstanders - is ridiculous. in conclusion, there are many things that the st has done well over these years, from hosting community events, helping to end conflict and making users feel welcomed. however, i believe that they are NOT doing enough to stop cases such as these, because they likely do not delve deep enough themselves into the situation. the reason that people make projects to call out a user for doing the wrong thing is to warn others AND the st, but if the st does seemingly nothing against the user in the wrong and then takes down a project for being 'disrespectful,' we might as well just let preds take over. please, st, address these problems instead of ignoring them! am i being too harsh, or do u agree? * i wont disclose the identity of the perpetrator and the victims due to this project maybe being taken down otherwise
