Writing this to give an update on where I am at and where I am going. This is going to sound a lot like that message I wrote on my profile last week, so apologies if you have already read that. But this is more in depth so I hope you stick around :) I’ve been on Scratch for 9 years. That’s a huge chunk of my life and I am eternally grateful to Scratch for teaching me how to animate. Of those 9, I’ve been a part of the AMV community for 7 years. Scratch’s simplicity was what allowed me to be able to learn animation’s fundamentals. But I think I have outgrown that simplicity. There’s only so much you can do with a vector costume editor. For about two months I have been learning After Effects and that is where I want to put my creative energy from now on. On another note, Scratch has lost most of its magic for me. Socializing and meeting new people was one of the most exciting aspects of Scratch for me when I was younger, but now I find myself mostly just dropping a heart, a star, and then moving on. I don’t comment very often. My social battery on Scratch is pretty drained. I talk to Scratch people more on that one certain app than I do on the actual site. I am also an IB student in the diploma programme. Right now, I am in the lightest part of the programme but after break is over next week, my workload is going to start getting heavier and my time is going to dwindle anyway. If you want to contact me, that one certain app is your best bet. Thank you to the entire AMV community <3
