⚠️ FINALE SPOILER ALERT ⚠️ Uhm…so…to be honest, I was expecting a GIANT plot twist, and it was super underwhelming, like I know that they’re like “moving on” or smth, but WTH THAT ENDING WAS SO DISAPPOINTING LIKE AT LEAST HAVE MIKE AND EL HAVE A REUNION ? like 0.0000001% of the show is them killing the monster and the rest of it is just wrapping things up. This show has been going on for NINE YEARS, and you’d think they’d go out with a bang?! I know that my opinions are unpopular, but…..UHMMMM BRING EL BAAACK. LIKE. EL LITERALLLYYY STOPPED TWO WORLDS FROM COLLIDING, BUT SHE CANT SEE MIKE. I thought that the duffer brothers said there was gonna be a big twist, but I didn’t see anything ? I thought the twist would be that Henry has a redemption arc or at least something with a shock factor. DUFFER BROTHERS, I AM DISAPPOINTED IN YOU TO SAY THE LEAST. MAKE AMENDS BY GIVING. US. MORE. EPISODES. The writing for the other seasons was far better than the final seasons, but this season felt so disjointed and rushed. Like, I wouldn’t mind if the duffer brothers took a bit more time to release the show and just improve the play. The fight between the mindflayer/vecna was not built up to be the main part like it should have. It just feels…off, like WHY WAS IT SO EASY FOR THEM TO DESTROY AM INTERDIMENSIONAL CREATURE, LIKE THE MINDFLAYER HAS BEEN PREPARING FOR YEARS NOW, BUT THEIR PEW-PEWS AND FIRE DESTROYED HIM, also on a side note, how come Lucas always gets REALLY bad weapons?! Like first he got a FREAKING SLINGSHOT IN THE FIRST FEW SEASONS, AFTER HE GOT A BOW AND ARROW, LIKE WILL HAS A FREAKIN FLAMETHROWER BUT HE HAS A BOW AND ARROW. Honestly, vecna is built up to be so powerful in the previous episodes, but how was it so easy for them to defeat him, they like impale him on one of those spikey-spikes, and they’re like, “welp, I guess that’s that…”?! To be honest, the fan theories were also waaaaaay better than the actual show, like you should actually take their ideas. On a new topic, here are some of the best fan theories I’ve seen: - vecna has a redemption arc(we saw a glimse of this theory when vecna entered the caves, and I have no idea why they tossed this storyline aside when it would have been super fitting, where he joins the kids to fight the mind flayed because he sees the trauma he went through, and doesn’t want holly to go through the same thing with him being the traumatizer. - kali is the big villain. After doing some googling, I found out that kali is actually a goddess known for destruction and chaos, and this would make sense, because of how off kali is acting. - vecna is playing with the minds of the audience: earlier, the duffer brothers released the run times of each episode, and each episode was at least two hours, although when the episodes were actually released, they were only around an hour long, so what of vecna is only allowing the audience to see what he wants them to see? That is why everything feels so disconnected in this season, and just off. I thought that along with the finale, they would rerelease the episodes of season five, but extended, with the parts that vecna was preventing the audience from seeing. To be honest, I think that this would have been an AMAZING ending, with the perfect touch of mind control that is immersive even to the audience. I know that I’ve been ranting for a long time, but to sum it up, I think that the duffer brothers wanted to just be done with this project, and leave it open ended so that they could make even more money by making a spin-off if they so choose, to leave it as an open option. Anyways, the main points I think could’ve been improved are: - no rushing(put more effort into making the plot more in depth and complex) - closure for el(I appreciate the duffer brothers trying to make it immersive, leaving it up to the audience to survive, similar to inception when we never know if the top stops spinning, but I do not think that an open ending was a good fit for this show, because the fans are so attached to these characters who we have grown to know and love over nine years Okay, so that’s all my thoughts so bye!
