Mkay, let's start from the top! One day you find yourself in a mysterious town with an eccentric host. The apartment building filled up and aside from Cat's avoidant nature and suspicious comments, not much lore was going on. It is quickly found Cat has three rules. 1. Don't go beyond the gate, 2. Don't touch his remote 3. Don't mention Nano More and more people began to look into him and to the player's knowledge, it becomes clear that he's trying to reach someone, and that he speaks to his remote often. Likely a walkie talkie of sorts. As the role play continues, the residents, "Ice", "Sparks", and "Cherry" as well with many more, start diving deeper an interacting with Cat. Many residents have had an impact on Cat, for better or worse. Some like Sparks, Cherry, and Chi have helped Cat for the better. But others, Ice especially, pushed Cat too far. (This gal, ligit gave Cat a panic attack and caused him to slip up and reveal what's wrong with him. The green scar thing that is) While this is happening, people discover that there is a voice. Heavily glitched, hard to make out, and the voice itself doesn't even know who it is anymore having been stuck in a mysterious place for so long. Sparks and others dug into it deeply and discovered that the voice was actually Pico who got stuck in a mysterious place called the Rift. Sparks confronted Cat about the voice and explained it to him and Cat reluctantly agreed to help save Pico. However, Sparks asked Cat not to hurt Pico once he was saved, Cat once again reluctantly agreed having a begrudging respect for Sparks and many of the residents who showed him kindness. Cat knew hurting Pico would be wrong, and so, with the promise made, Cat would have to restrain himself from a resentment and betrayal that festered for years. Cat revealed that the sun in the Apartment is not real and in fact artificial, and in short basically told Sparks to fly into the sun to save Pico. I kid you not, Sparks got on one of Cat's hovering devices and flew into the sun (It's wild but trust, it makes sense if you figure out what the sun actually is. Though note, going into the sun may be dangerous if your char has even the slightest bit of coding in them) And so Sparks found Pico, or what remained of Pico. You see, the Rift was made for tearing anything with code apart. And being a code born, Pico was basically ripped apart in the Rift (no g0re or anything, just glitched out heavily and had parts missing) Sparks took Pico to Cat, who with his knowledge of coding and code-borns, put Pico back together as much as possible. Some parts were impossible to fix, such as Pico's eye and sense of taste, and others like his voice, took time to heal and recover. Though Cat fixed Pico, he was far from tossing out the resentment he had built for years towards all of his former friends, and though Pico tried to make up, Cat pushed Pico away and treated him like a stranger or enemy. Pico was not like Cat at all however. He is a very kind an patient person with no secrets other than the ones Cat forced him to keep. Cat literally altered Pico's coding to keep him from spilling any secrets. Still, Pico believes his friend is good. Eventually, a power generator, which supplied most of the towns lights and energy, was destroyed and Cat was attacked by an old, familiar face. One known commonly as ERROR. Though he accepts that name, he actually has a name he gave himself. "Enlightenment", one he gave in honor and memory of what he did to Cat in the past. The generator was repaired, at least enough to bring back power, but it was too late. ERROR and the rest of the "bugs" took over the forth floor and turned it into a sort of nesting ground or hive. Cat himself fears ERROR deeply and though he's tried to expel ERROR, it has been to no avail. So what's the deal with the whole "Scratch Cat" vs "Cat" thing? Alright, alright, buckle down, this one's a toughie. Alright, so it has been heavily implied, and now I shall confirm it. Scratch Cat is a robot. One built by Cat for reason unknown. This much is known however, Scratch Cat was made to do whatever's best for the server. And he has decided, what's best, is himself. Cat knows of Scratch Cat, of course, I mean he built it. And he abhors the thing! He believes it has taken his place, hence why he calls himself Cat rather than Scratch or Scratch Cat. The names Scratch and Scratch Cat have been stolen from him. And he knows it. I'm not sure if this lore catch up helps at all, if you need something further explained or something I missed, please let me know!
The latest thing that's happened: Strange little cubes have appeared around the Apartment, skittish but watching you. Simply watching. Meanwhile Pico has gone missing from the Apartment.
