I believe El is dead because we saw Kali's body, and if some chance she survived, her abilities couldn't have reached that far, and even if she could, how would she know the correct timing to create El's copy? Also, when El entered Mike's mind, she couldn't have entered because of her kryptonite. This is just my opinion btw :D
