REDRAW TIME!! WOO!! AND HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! I hope you guys had a super cool New Year's and complete all of your New Year's Resolutions. But I'm still gonna make an art summary project where I'll actually talk about New year's stuff, so for now, lets focus on the art I totally finished in 2025! Every year I decided to redraw the same concept to see how I improved! It stared as a middle school art assignment to make a drawing based off a phrase. Best you can't guess what I chose WINK WINK >;D Anyway, I did and it was my favorite art piece of all time, like obviously, the oldest version is my magnum opus and I can never beat it, but the next year, I wasn't in art class anymore but my school decided to make a literary magazine and I wanted to prove to my old art teacher I was better! So I made the next one. I hated it. Still hate it. I don't know how I made something so bad, I lowkey preferred the first T0T So the next year, I vowed to myself I'd redeem myself and actually redraw it right this time! And with the third one, which I finally liked, I decided to do this every year! You would know all this if you saw last year's redraw project, unfortunately Scratch Team caught onto it and deemed it too powerful and it was taken down. So let's keep this one a secret between us! Anyway, I still really like last year's but I knew what I could obviously improve, and I genuinely think I did improve a lot! Like objectively speaking my latest piece is probably one of my best art piece's this year (a trend with most of my redraws) and I like how I made the Devil more monstrous and insane looking, like as the dance goes on, he's losing his gentlemanly facade. On the other hand, the girl, Evangeline, looks terrified, but I also think I made her a bit more defiant in the way she's grabbing him and with her expression. The clothing is much more detailed, and I think I did a great job rendering. On that note, I think I still prefer last years T0T I've nailed down why to the lighting and composition, but mostly the lighting. I love how dramatic last year's is, the spotlight is on Evangeline, despite her distress, and while she's trying to get as far away from him as possible, he's keeping her trapped every way he can (tail curling around her, the wings surrounding them, him pulling her in) I think it makes several triangular compositions that lead to their faces. On the newest one, I zoomed in more, and I think that's the issue. It feels more cramped, I couldn't fit stuff like his tailed, and I struggled with matching the dramatic nature of the last piece because of the lack of space; a spotlight just wasn't working. I also know I wanna get better at rendering, even though that and my linework is my favorite part. I feel like its leagues behind my lineart and kinda drags the whole thing down, if I was just a bit better at rendering more painterly, this would easily be my best piece this year. So that's what I'm gonna work on! art studies here I come!! ANYWAY!! That's enough complaining! All that means is next year, or I guess at the end of this year, I have to redraw this again and make sure even better than both of them in every way! If you're still reading my rambling, which one of all the drawings do you prefer? And happy New Years again! 2026 WILL BE OUR YEAR RAAAAAAAAHHHH!! 1. 2025's piece yippee!! 2. 2024 3. 2023 3. 2022 (IHATEITIHATEITIHATEIT!!) 4. The og, honestly the best drawing here. ~ Code - Time taken - 16hr 32min Art - Me! Music - Why don't you do right
