It does not mean you have to stick to the story or path that everyone wants you to take, it just means that you cannot back out of your goals, and you must stay true to the path you chose to take. backing out of what you promised for yourself is a coward’s move, and adeline would never dare to be a coward. - obey: do without objection; be a good girl, and do what you are told. fight for your father. care for your siblings. hunt for your clan. sing for your friends. anything you do; you do it for him, or whoever asks. There is no better feeling than to be of use to someone; that is annette’s purpose, as it is theirs- the art of command; of control. marmot is a catalyst of forcing the hand of just how far power can go. living proof that loyalty doesn’t come from experience, it comes from image, and admiration. - justify: no action is to go without reason; if asked, there must be an answer. logic is behind every action, every movement. if something is none without meaning; it’s a waste of effort and time to get up to that point of a relationship, or that point of the day. (she doesn’t justify befriending others, unless it would be to her personal gain or something that would teach her something new. out of pure respect for the code (one of the only things she tries to follow to a t) she will speak regularly to educational figures- even if they hold no value to her in her ‘true life.’) there is an answer to everything when it is sought out. A ‘ghost’ who stands out from the rest of the mindless ‘fog’ that sits in Shadowclan. (Refers to deep, personal connections as fog; Deceitful quests of nothing, posed as self-satisfaction or betterment when all it does for you is sucks a cat away from ‘true purpose’) She cannot rely on her father to teach her, so she mainly relied on her siblings (even then staying distant from Wolverine and Mongoose as a precaution, making sure she ‘doesn’t taint’ their pureblooded duties as heirs; remaining closer to civet and deer.)
