It was a quiet day for Jonah, having just returned from getting fired from his job, the 6th time this month. He took his usual path, in the overgrown mossy and rocky path. He always avoided going off-track though, as this particular path lead into the "Palace of the Gifted Ones," and was deemed super dangerous. He never visited the ruins himself, yet it was always intruged about how it become such a landmark in Ketate. Feeling rebelious and having a penchant for danger now, Jonah shrugged. Surely it wouldn't be bad if he took a shortcut home, right? Jonah clutched his bag tighter, trudging through the over-grown ferns and plant-life, being careful not to step on any ants. He did notice claw marks and trail leading down into a deeper part of the forest, with blood lined in the tracks. Jonah scrunches his nose, disliking the smell, but kneels down to see where the blood trail led. "I wonder what happened..." The blood was a sort of turquiose or light cyan glob subtance, like slime. Jonah shuddered and stood up, wanting to go home. But, there was a sound. A sort of screech. Jonah glanced off in that direction, wondering where it came from. He sighed, debating where he should investigate or just leave it alone. But alas, the concern won out and Jonah went down the path, then off to find the source of the scream. After tripping multiple times and also getting tangled in the roots and vines from the over-growth of trees and other things, Jonah realised that the trail of ooey gooey blue blood had stopped. He tilted his head, looking around frantically. *Where had that scream come from?* He took some more steps into the little area, and noticed a little pond. Jonah smiled, and sat down. This was nice. Woah. What was that? Something was at the other edge of the pond. Like a blob. Or... something sentient. Jonah blinked. Was it a rock? Was it alive? "...uh... hey!" He called out, his hands cupped around his mouth. The blob had.. eyes. Great... It turned to face him, and swished around, before hiding behind a rock. So it *was* alive, okay... Jonah made his way to the other side of the pond, and to the rock where the blue blob was hiding behind. "Hey... it's okay. I won't hurt you," he mumbled, pulling out a granola bar. "Here! Food. It's goo-" In an instant, the blob inhaled the granola bar, the pieces floating around the semi-translucent slimey blue skin blob thing. "Oh. Okay. I... think I just got a pet."
