I don't want to share too much of my personal life, but I'm just going to say it's a lack of motivation. So, I lost my stylus (I use a school chromebook) and when I found it, I kinda just no longer had the motivation to do digital art. Plus, since this is a school Chromebook, I can only access Kleki (and maybe a few other art sites) and I'm sick of using Kleki (since I can't, like, download Procreate or something) so I just stopped. I still look on Scratch now and then and comment, but I'm not going to upload digital art for a while now. So, about the art dump: I don't have a sketchbook (YET) so I use this notebook I happen to have :) and I've just been doodling in here. I don't want to force myself to step out of my comfort zone in my sketchbook by drawing more cats and attempting to draw people yet. If I ever feel brave, I'll try, but I don't want to right now, so I won't :) I just doodle whatever comes to mind because it's calming and it makes opening my sketchbook less intimidating! ^^ I also feel more proud of my work. Some of these doodles are based off of what I find on Pintrest. The 'comic panel' style that inspired me was also found on Pintrest. Plus, I like to keep things organized and finish my work in chunks, so doodling panel-by-panel makes opening my sketchbook less intimidating than drawing on a blank page. (SORRY FOR SPELLING PINTREST WRONG IF I SPELL IT CORRECT SCRATCH MARKS IT AS A BAD WORD FOR SOME REASON...) I might be posting more art dumps later on, but they'll probably all be traditional, and kinda small. Anyways, here's a breakdown of my MINI ART DUMP! NOTE: Anything written in anything other than English is from Google Translate 1. I started experimenting with the 'comic panels' artstyle. I used big boxes and tried my best to fill them with themes. I failed miserably with giving each panel themes, and I eventually just went free flow with whatever came to mind. 2. 4 boxes, I wasn't feeling too motivated. I love how neat it turned out, and this is where I begin relying a bit more on Pintrest. 3. More Pintrest stuff. I was at a friend's house when I made this, so my friend asked if she could do a panel. The bottom right panel (the shaded one) is the one my friend made. I wrote their name ("name" made this) so I decided to censor that 4. Over here, I was feeling 'fairy tale' vibes, so I drew scenery like mountains and valleys and mushrooms houses and a witch's potions in the bottom left corner and who knows that else... 5. Over here, I was feeling more of a 'celestial astronaut' theme, so I did a lot of moons, stars, astronauts, and a UFO. Over here I begin understanding that more panels and smaller panels suited me better 6. The final one! I made this on New Year's Day. I just threw in whatever aesthetic time-related stuff I could find on Pintrest. I threw in a snow globe and swings and moons and clocks because they gave a cozy feel overall. I'm very proud of this one! So I'm still going to be around on Scratch, but I'm going to lean more heavily on traditional art and art dumps. I'm not going to accept MAPS (unless I do, like, traditional art PMV or something XD) and I'm not doing DTAs or OTAs or DTIYS or anything like that. If you guys have art contests that accept traditional art then I can join, but I know from experience digital art is more likely to be chosen so I might not be as motivated. You guys can still invite me to art contests though!
Soooo I'm giving credit to Pintrest for it's amazing art suggestions and doodles and for showing me the comic panel style! I'm intentionally misspelling it so this doesn't get taken down... Credit to Google Translate for anything that isn't in English XD
