Let me just say for a minute that i dont hate scratch. Im not a fan of some of its aspects sure, but thats mostly just scratch users being overdramatic and getting in pointless fights. People trying to subvert the moderation and then being mad when it gets stricter, kids mad that trending is broken (honestly just get over it bro), advertising, etc. Theyre just a small team of people trying to keep this site that we all use running, not an evil organization designed to crush the dreams of children. And when i say small team i mean SMALL team. 30 some odd people, and they arent funded by mit like some people think, only running off donations and grants. They cant be everywhere doing everything. They cant be managing scratch 24/7. All that is to say, i try to view everything scratch does from both perspectives.
