Her mom passed away when she was 5. By the time She turned 12, she moved from her hometown of Juneau, Alaska to because her dad got a new job and he thought things would be better for them there. Moving was hard for Ash, she had to leave her friend from Alaska behind and start fresh. Luckily, she was able to make a friend. She became best friends with a girl named Lila. They were inseparable. Sadly, when Ash turned 15 tragedy struck and Lila passed away in a car wreck. Ash soon became depressed and felt that there was no way out of it. She began to fall behind in school and in life. Then one day it all changed. When she was 17 she met someone named Theo. Theo was an incredibly understanding friend who helped Ash through her depression. Ash soon realized that She had feelings for Theo. She gathered up her couraged and expressed those feelings for Them. Sadly, Theo did not share the same feelings.
