she forgor her last name due to how intense the illness was, it's just Maya :fire: she is like 9 originally a person, easily ailed by illness. When she was bedridden and near death ,"Merchant" gave her mother a herb at the door. Told her to make Maya take the herd daily. Her skin warped and greyed, her ears grew longer and she gained a tail. But she was no longer sick and in fact much better so. "Merchant" sent a Crow to spy on her in the human village. The crows' scent was tainted and evil and the rest of the village rushed to that evil #aura but the crow flew away. They broke the door down to her mothers home and tried to kill Maya. Her mother told her to run. She did and she found a lake. A lake where Toro regularly fishes. Toro approached the dumb idiot scared child [Maya] and tried to talk to her... in monster [will have to make some kind of established language thingy how lovely] but uh Maya can't understand monster, just erm human. Luckily, Toro knew broken human so we all good :fire: and then Toro took her into the slums and she never saw her family again. BUT DON'T WORRY!!! THIS IS THE YAOGUAI hehe yoaigay TOWN SO ITS ALL GOOD!!! anyways so Maya lived with Toro for a bit until Toro started simping for Ishine and lowkey prioriting Ishine and taking pictures of her and shtuff. Maya helps around the Town with little pay for little jobs like passing on a message or helping with carrying someone's luggage around for them occasionally. She Lowk hates Merchant The Cat
