Chapter One~ Gravity ⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫⯏⬫⯎⬫ Last Fiix I went down to the planet in a small Comet jet wearing enhancement gear. Even with the gear, I could barely move. If this was the gravity of a planet this small, how will we ever be able to travel to the others? There are tales passed through generations about when humans first left earth, and there was gravity on the ships. It didn’t last long, too problematic. Apparently it took up too much energy, and whenever the ship went near an asteroid patch… Well, it was hard to keep gravity inside the ship. Who knows how long it’s been since then? The schoolbooks used to say that earth was the perfect paradise. Everyone in harmony, plants everywhere. Corny stuff like that is pretty hard to imagine. Although, schoolbooks don’t tell us why we left earth in the first place. Why would we leave if it really was so perfect? But with the times we live in now, we can’t really question what we're told. The only reason Nia and I get the luxury of being head of the lab is because my sister is head of the ship. The captain. Not that she does much work other than bossing us around, being way too secretive and sleeping. Speaking of, where is she? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Hey Nia?” I asked. “Do you know where my sister would be?” “Ona? She barely comes out of her room these days. Why?” She answered. “Just wondering..” I mumbled in return. She was never very social, but ever since we found this galaxy she’s been especially introverted. “What about your brother, Jessie? I haven't seen him around much either.” “Jessie? Oh, I don’t really know what’s up with him these days. Probably some new Synced game he found.” Nia rolled her eyes and said, “Synced? Those can mess with your head.” “I know! Remember when I played them even in the middle of the night? You would find me in my room, barely awake, trying not to pass out for dear life! I have to admit, they got a little addicting.” “A little?” Leri joked- “You skipped school to play those old Earth simulators!” We both barely held in our laughter. “Anyway, do you know our process for this?” I panted, trying to get back on task. “Uh, I think I have instructions somewhere around here. Ona supposedly sent them to me.” She pulled out her link band to scroll through her notes, and after about three minutes found what she was looking for. “Ona’s not very good with instructions, is she?” Nia jeered. “Never has been. I'll go talk to her.” I remarked, trying not to tease Nia. Instructions were not quite her specialty either. “Can you ask her when she’s going to tell the other ships about all this? The planets? She seems to be trying to keep the information inside the colony.” Nia asked quickly before I left. “Sure." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow, you finished another chapter!
