I have a HORSE!!!! A real life, actual horse! Her name is Leia, and she's a 15 year old registered Quarter Horse mare. She arrived yesterday, and is settling in well! My mom and I have been searching for a horse for about 4-5 months, but it's HARD to be shopping for a horse! We visited a few others, but they either weren't a good fit, or didn't pass their vet check. The others that we looked at were also about a 3 hour drive away! But then she showed up and was 40 minutes away, so we visited and liked her, and she had a good vet check. And now we have a horse! The details about her past are a little confusing, but we think she'd tried to be a barrel racing horse initially, but wasn't into barrels. She then changed hands a few times and was a broodmare. We know she's had about 3-4 foals, and we have pictures of 3 of them! After she weaned her last foal, she spent two months doing lessons at a lesson/jumper barn before we bought her. So she hasn't worked very consistently throughout her life, but she's a very willing and levelheaded horse, so I think she'll be a good fit for us. She doesn't understand what carrots and sugar cubes are though, so I'll need to teach her to like them! We got to watch her interact with the herd for the first time today, and it's fun to watch the DRAMA! She's already made friends with an older mare named Daphne, which is sweet! Anyways, I'm SO EXCITED to finally have a horse- this is every horse-crazy girl's dream come true! I'll probably post some more pictures and updates in the future, and I'll definitely make a model of her and post that as well!
I've included a few pictures of Leia (most of the other pictures have people in the pics too :\ ), as well as a meme and pictures of her foals. The buckskin is an 8-year-old gelding, the chestnut is a 4-year-old filly, and the last one is a dunskin who is just a couple months old!
