1. What Is a Clutch? A clutch is a group of dragon eggs laid at the same time. In Reckoning, a clutch is usually a set of adoptable dragon designs that players can claim. Once claimed, they can RP as their character. You can make clutches for: Your own character, plus others Randomized designs Themed events Tribe‑specific breeding Hybrids Storyline‑based eggs (With permission from me if it's big) 2. Clutch Size Most clutches are between 3–7 eggs, but you can choose any number between 2-20 Common formats: Small clutch: 2–3 eggs Standard clutch: 4–6 eggs Large clutch: 7–10 eggs Special event clutch: 10+ eggs 3. Parents (Optional, but if there's a parented Clutch that's great) You can list: The mother The father Or just say “Unknown parents” If the clutch isn't parented If you include parents, please note: Tribe(s) Colors Abilities Personality traits Extra (e.g., rare scale patterns, unusual horns, animus relative) 4. Design the Eggs Each egg should have: A number (Egg 1, Egg 2, etc.) A short description A color palette Hints about the hatchling (optional) Example: Egg 3: Deep navy shell with silver speckles. Cold to the touch. Hint: Might be an IceWing/NightWing hybrid. You can keep them vague or very detailed :) 5. How Claiming Works Choose one of these systems: First‑Come, First-Served FCFS Whoever comments first gets the egg. Application‑Based People fill out a form: Why they want the egg Their plans for the character Personality ideas RP intentions You pick your favorite application :D Randomized You roll dice or use a generator to assign eggs to claimers. Creator Keeps Some You can mark certain eggs as: “Keeper” (you keep it) “Reserved” (for a friend) “Open” (claimable) 6. Write the Clutch Post A clean clutch post usually includes: Title Example: Clutch #4 — The Frost Moon Clutch Parents (If parented) Mother: Frostbite (IceWing) Father: Eclipse (NightWing) Egg List Numbered eggs with descriptions. Claiming Rules How many eggs can each person claim Whether redesigns are allowed Whether credit is required Whether the creator wants updates on the hatchling’s development Status Egg 1 — Claimed Egg 2 — Open Egg 3 — Reserved Egg 4 — Claimed 7. After an Egg Is Claimed You can now: Reveal the hatchling design Let the claimer design it Provide a base or palette Give tribe percentages (for hybrids) Some creators reveal the hatchling only after the egg is claimed; that's optional :3 Please read Basically Reckoning (RP welcome Q&A how to rp etc) before making a clutch.
