[NOVELIZED VER. OF THAT KINDA ANIMATION THINGY] My hand shakes. Am I ready? This is a pretty big thing to accomplish, let alone attempt. Well… I don’t think there’s any way to prepare for this. So, I- Waitaminit—I realize— this probably seems strange, doesn’t it? Contextless, this could really be interpreted as anything. I could be jumping over a live volcano! I could be escaping a falling series of tunnels, saving my pet along the way! I could be fighting a dragon! But instead, I’m doing something much harder. I’m… Preparing to open a door. … Alright. I know that doesn't sound like much, but believe me, when you learn what lies beyond it, it will. *phewwwwww…* where to start, where to start. Ah! I got it! My NAME!!!!! It’s… IT’S…. Jaston. Yeah… Now that I think about it, my name isn’t all that impressive. Neither is my clothing. A green cap that I wear backward to cover my canonically shiny as a crystal BALD HEAD, a sweater button shirt thingy, some old pants I got off of a dead- *AHEM* I- I mean some pants I got for my Birthday 3 years ago that were coincidentally a perfect fit for me now, and some shoes I…. Also got on my 12th Birthday… Yeah. Oh, and My entire right arm is completely black, and my right eye has a huge scratch from when it got pried out, (also 3 years ago) so in other words, my life is great. :] Honestly, ever since I came here, to this new land, from after I burned down my possessed house that I would always wake up in every morning no matter what I did and made a portal to get away from that place while also looking for my parents as I’ve been trying to do for the last 3 years, (It was a whole thing) I haven’t really made any friends. I did try making some, literally, out of scrap metal from my busted portal, but all the gears and other mechanical bits of the beautiful portal I once had burned to a crisp after the explosion, so my so-called “friends” were really just some metal plates glued together with happy faces formed from metal rods. I ended up leaving them behind, since they weren’t huge talkers. [CONTINUE BELOW]
Then I tried looking for others, but everyone I’ve seen was from a distance, and I don’t like actually talking to real people, so no friends. But I did find an old house in the woods! I even got to celebrate Valentine’s Day there!—ALONE— with my popped balloons I found on the floor while exploring and my termite infested table and chair, along with the occasional ant that came through the missing wall, instead of using the front door (How rude!). But, even with a missing wall and rotted furniture, complete with a broken mirror, I love my house, except for the one thing I’ve been wondering about in the first place, the closet. You see, I’ve found out that the Wraith—The shadow being that scratched out my eye—only seems to like dark spaces, and since I’ve been in the light most of the time to avoid pain, since the dark hurts me for some reason, I haven’t been able to see my petrifier in a while. Since I have nothing better to do, I want to meet the Wraith again, in the dark, which is why I’m preparing to open up this room. The only dark space safe enough to stay in for an extended period of time that I know of, so whether I like it or not, this one cramped closet will have to do. Now that you're caught up to the present, you understand the importance of this room, Wraith, pain, darkness and all, so you probably (hopefully) see the difficulty of opening this door. My breath is shaky and my mind races to the memory of when I first met The Wraith. The thought alone calls a tear to slide down my face. I pause, thinking about that one, horrible, painful moment. I snap back to reality, still trembling. But a deep breath and some teeth gritting later, and I’m in. The first thing I notice is that this closet is much bigger than I expected, and I can’t even see the end of this room. Good thing I brought my watch to tell time and my flashlight to minimize pain! I shine the flashlight and its beam fades into the darkness before I can see the wall. Wow, this is a really long room. Then I shine it to the other walls and the same thing happens, no wall in sight. Also, I’m not sure if it’s just me or not, but the pain I’m feeling in here is a lot greater than I expected. You know what? I just realized I forgot to bring some food with me! Gotta go get my moldy cheese and cracker crumbs! But… There’s just one problem. When I turn back to get some snacks, the doorknob… it’s… gone.
