Jade spawned. She was in a jungle, with several other people, all ready to conquer, build alliances, and forge empires. Pearl, who was already in her ocean empire robes walked up to Jade, with a friendly smile. "Hey. I'm Pearl. Welcome to Empires. Nice outfit." she said. "Jade. Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself." Jade complimented back, tucking a braid of her wild blond hair behind her ear. as the day moved on, others greeted, and left, until Jade was left, staring at the stars. She realized. She was not alone. "Hello?" she called out, fear rising in her voice. "HELLO?" she called out again, panicking. "Hello." a chilling voice, that of a girl, yet not, pierced the silence of the jungle, as Jade turned to see the speaker. A skulker. Some poor soul infected by skulk, their mind and body merging, becoming the infection until they were a slave of the skulk. "Who-who are you? What do you want?!" Jade cried out, terrified. "No one you need to be concerned about. At least for now." the skulker said, deadpan, moving slowly into the light of the dying campfire, its embers glowing softly. Jade's eyes widened. She had never met a skulker before, but drawings paled in comparison to the horror and disgust. Then she ran. Didn't know where, didn't care. Just to get that image out of her mind. It was like a car crash in slow motion. You just couldn't look away, you couldn't stop thinking about it. She was too fast, unable to stop, fearing the skulker would be right behind her. She couldn't stop... "Jade! Jade? jade..." a hazy voice called out, looking at her from above, fear and worry in their eyes. Jade squinted from the light. "Pearl?" Pearl breathed a sigh of relief, and helped Jade up. "I-i found you, unconcious, in the ravine, you looked like you had fell, I-i was so worried, you could've died..." she said, her voice still shaky. As Jade tried to comfort Pearl, a sharp pain went through her leg, and Jade collapsed to the ground, the leg hurting like crazy. "Owww... my leg." "Well, you did fall in a ravine." "I'll be fine. Hopefully." Jade said, getting up, and balancing on her good leg. "Oh! Um, I wanted you to have this. I'm not much of a miner, myself." Pearl said, taking out a shiny, crystal pickaxe, and handing it to Jade. "Thanks, Pearl." she said, smiling weakly. She was still in the ravine. As Pearl left, Jade faced the caves ahead her, crystal pickaxe in her hand, leg hurting, but still alive. She knew. She knew where she would rule. And she would defend it with her life.
