(Instructions are also on each time card if you don't want to read all of this) To start, press the green flag to prepare everything. I recommend having your note cards ready. (Note cards are recommended for a better score on appropriateness during USAD competitions.) When you are ready, begin your speech and press the "Start!" button. When you see the green screen, you have 1 minute until time is up. When you see the yellow screen, you have 30 seconds to stop your speech. I recommend you wrap it up within the next 8-25 seconds for a better chance at good timing during the performance. When you see the red screen, your time is up, and you may receive a timing violation which would deduct points from your speech. When you finish your speech, regardless of what screen you are on, click/tap the "End :)" button. A screen with your timing results will be displayed, and you can edit your speech if you got a timing Violation. If you wish to share your speech with me, I have a grading rubric I can use to provide feedback. Simply record your speech audio and share it as a scratch project, and send me the link through the comments here.
This is not an official United States Academic Decathlon timer, this is created by a competitor. I claim no rights to USAD, and can and will take down this project if asked to by judges/staff. Please do not advertise unrelated projects in the comments. I will delete your comment if I deem it unrelated or unhelpful. Please let me know if there are any bugs/flaws in my code; I haven't used scratch in a while and threw this together in 2 days during 9 separate classes. #adcec #usad #academic #education
