[] around text is emphasis ------------------------------------------------------------------------- //What time is it?// Dahlia's vision slowly cleared as the world appeared around her. Squinting, she lifted her head out of the warm sunshine before looking around for her parents. //Hm? Where are they?// The realisation hit her hard as her hope evaporated. //Oh...// Her heart sank as her paws grew heavy. Slowly, she made her way over to the river to take a sip. //What if i don't find them?// The thought seemed to eat her alive, whenever she closed her eyes, she would see the scene again - the scene of the rushing water. How much she had wished she hadn't been so careless. Guilt weighed down on her shoulders as she remembered the icy cold wave of water that pulled her from her parents, how she fought the water with her paws as her thick pelt seemed to be a stone dragging her down. She had called and splashed until she couldn't feel her paws anymore. Dahlia's throat became dry and slowly, she lost vision as she sank into the blue. Quickly shaking her head, Dahlia looked determinedly at the river. Seeing the ripples, she quickly hardened her gaze. //I can find them. All I have to do is to follow the river.// Picking up her pace, Dahlia started to travel - to find her way back home. The sun had lifted above the soft cotton clouds that were carefully laid like whipped cream. The birds calls and the occational rustling of leaves was all that kept Dahlia from boredom. //I'll be there soon...// The once soft cool grass that squished under her paws felt like small ice needles that stabbed into her pads. Though she didn't see anything familiar, she still kept traveling. A sudden heat wave met her face as she blinked in surprise. //Gosh, why is it so warm?// Deciding to stay under a tree's shade, Dahlia realised hunger was nipping at her stomach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Choice: 1. try to get fish: 4 votes 2. try to find other prey or fruit: 3 votes
