THIS IS MY ANAK he still doesnt have a full name YET but im calling him zel for now ok this has two versions btw one with his dumb coat and one without bc he looks like a pillar. jusr tap the flag to alternaye the versions its a bit broken but idc if it works ir works /j DESIGN NOTES!!!! - half of his collar is turned up - his tie is hanging on for dear life and is poorly tucked in his waistcoat - that's a coat. with sleeves. he just doesn't wear it like a normal person he wears ir like a cape bc he is stupid my son is stupid /j - the spirals represent his curse and his deteriorating mental state LORE TIME!!! NYEHEHEHE (this is just a long ahh yap session opt. btw) basically. so like he went to rhis super cool magic school to study sorcery and he was very passionate when it came to learning he's naturally very curious about how things work he's a visual learner he loooves making experiments he loves learning by seeing and observing in real time. he was the top of his class!!!! but there was this one artifact in particular that he was obsessed about. this artifact is like,, super ancient?? locked away in their professor's office (who's like this really old jnsane wise wizard by the way). very little was known about it except that it contained veeerry powerful magic, thus no sorcerer or sorceress dared to touch it or even approach it. BUT zel being the curious littol guy ever,,,, this artifact becomes his obsession his hyperfixation,,, spendz dayz on end wondering what power it could hold and drawz it everywhere to the point where his colleagues are super concerned about him LMAO but this also drives his friends away from him bc at this point he's gone from the bright student to this guy who's weirdly obsessed with a dinosaur's bone or whatever. eventually curiosity getz the cat, he sneaks in their professor;s office, gets his handz on that artifact and it turnz out to be a curse <3 HEREZ MY FAVORITE PART!!!! the curse is simply destructive. tjhat;'s it. it's not sentient, it does not possess consciousness, it's just a spell so dark that it corrupts and destroys anything that comes in contact with it, that bad energy and destruction fueling it even more. turns out this curse was sealed years ago, and all of those years being contained in the artifact just made the curse grow to be hungry and hungrier. now since zel (dawg long ahh lore if you made it here comment "zelala" ors omething ily) was the first eva sorcerer to come in contact with it, it just..... consumes him yeah!! think of it as a parasite. it js started feeding on zel's already terrible mental state and made it spiral down even further lmaooo. basically!! again as i mnentioned it's very destructive, so it also plays with zel's mind. his memory becomes foggy as hell, he'll get terrible hallucinations and dreams to the point where he's unable to even distinguish reality from what the curse is making him see <3333 whenever this happens whenever his mind is being kept away and he's unable to focus on reality the curse takes over him and starts controlling his body (i have yet to draw his cursed form gigglez)!!!! again the curse isnt sentient and doesnt have a form of its own, it just exists to destroy. what it does is destroy zel's mind, in order to take zel's body as its form and using it to destroy the outside world. ok herez the paradox or whatever. this just makes zel feel GUILTY as hell. that this never wouldve happened if he didnt let his curiosity get the best of him, yada yada, and in turn the curse just feeds on his terrible thoughts, making it stronger. ok trivia time chat zel will oftentimes poison himself with berries, to make his head spin in pain and for his stomach to twist and wring itself til he vomits violently. he does this to avoid the curse from taking over him and from destroying anything in his path. the pain helps keep his mind nailed to reality, bc the curse takes control whenever he's hallucinating and his mind is away riGHT RIGHT RGAAHATHAHEHAHR um. yeah he like runz away from the kingdom he used to live in and was chased for yearz, with the people under the assumption that he embraced the dark magic and became evil by heart!!!!!!!! poor guy this in turn really numbs him and is discouraged from learning about the world around him. all while still trying to keep himself from being entirely consumed by the curse bc he believes it was genuinely his fault for being curious and that it was only fair for him to try and keep the curse from destroying anything else. thatz it the end <333 he does eventually pick up learning again. just this time in solitude, wandering the forest alone and observing every little bug or creecher or whatever.
