it is in 2.5 D or 2.5 dimensions, this may be confusing but it just means that the world around us is in 3D where you can spin an object in 2 different ways: up down, left right. 2D means that you cannot do either you can rotate but that does not change what it looks like, only the position that you view it from. So in this you can only spin it in one direction, left and right so it is only halfway to being 3D.
