Chapter Two My heart immediately dropped, "banishment?" I thought, "I'm banished from my home and the only place I know". I then felt one of the guards grab my wrist and yank me back the direction we came. Ow!" I exclaimed as my wrist twisted before the guard stopped and let me turn around properly. "This guy just almost twisted my wrist, and he didn't care." I thought, "really shows how they treat someone who's committed a crime ". I was then escorted towards the main gates of the city. You see, banishment is for some individuals who are high-threat criminals or people who have committed many crimes. What were my crimes? Mostly shoplifting, although I did give most of the food I stole to people who couldn't afford to buy any food, but it's still considered a crime in the city's eyes. The reason my punishment is so severe is that all the charges of the shoplifting crimes added up to the point where the penalty was apparently banishment. Suddenly, I felt the hood that had been on my head, covering my vision, be lifted off my head. The sun's bright rays blinded me for a second because of the darkness I had endured in the hood. I then saw the beauty of the town surrounding me and all the sounds of machinery hard at work. I was also now able to see the guards, one of them turned to me and said "take one nice look at the inside of the city, it'll be the last you'll see of it", I don't know if it was the way he tried to talk in a deep voice or the way he tried to stare me was being used as an attempt to look intimdating that made me laugh a little on the inside. I kept being escorted down the street towards the main gates. Some children came outside to see what was happening and why city security was walking with someone with their hands tied behind their back. Some of the children stood there watching in confusion, while others were told by their parents to go back inside the house. We eventually came to the gates, the doors opened, and we walked through them. Once we were past the gates and outside the city, they threw me to the ground, kicking up dust onto me, they also threw my katana to the ground next to me, the metal of the blade hit the ground with a ring and then the guards began walking away, "enjoy the rest of your terrible, wretched life," they called to me, and then they all started laughing. Their voices eventually faded away out as they went back past the gates and into the city, the gates closing behind them, sealing my fate as I was now an outsider to everyone I once knew. I then groaned slightly, the guards had forgot to undo the zip ties to free my hands.
