Once Leah was born, she was immediately taken in by "Papa" who raised her, trained her, and used her for her powers for the labs benefit. After Two managed to escape Hawkins Lab, she is found by Steve and Nancy in Steve's backyard. But then Nancy left Steve, leaving him to protect Two. (So like, "mama" Steve /ref). She's friends with Steve, Nancy, Johnathan, and Will. She later finds out about Eleven, and Mike, and becomes friends with them as well. She can also control the Demogorgons, so really it's like Mike and his friends got a second Vecna but on their side.
