Use with credit Finally got to record some more 2800 audio! This is an audio pack for F4U-1A BuNo 17799, owned by the Planes of Fame Air Museum, starting up, taking off, and flying by. I have also included an additional audio file with the prop turning sound, with some engine priming! It’s free to use on scratch only, but please give credit to me when using it. Remember how I said you can use the P-47 audio for Corsairs and other 2800 aircraft? Definitely not. Every 2800 powered aircraft has its own distinct sound. The Bearcat has a whistle which makes the actual engine noise quieter than it. On startup, this whistle is very prominent. The P-47 will most likely sound similar starting up, but maybe with less whistle. Flying over, it has a very mean sounding roar. I’ll get to hear the Jug in all of its glory next month. The Corsair probably has the most normal 2800 sound, though it doesn’t sound as distinguishable from other warbird engines when flying by. The Tigercat also has a normal sounding 2800 on startup, though more prominent than the Corsair. It shares flyby sound characteristics with both the Corsair and P-47, having a faint roar similar to the latter. Unfortunately, due to my limited amount of recordings, I will not be publishing any of them to Scratch. The Hellcat will most likely sound similar to a Corsair.
