AdderFlight lay still in the nursery, tail curled around her kits as they chowed down on a fish. Her ears perked up as a voice rang from out of camp. "Ahem. AdderFlight?" The queen tucked her paws under her body into a loaf-like shape, not responding. A broad-shouldered tom slowly stepped into the den. brown fur, short stature. "Do you need something, MountainDew?" AdderFlight asked, staring down at her kits. "We found a kit on patrol." "..Okay?" "Uhm-" The tom stuttered. "Will you please care for him? We can't find his mother. There's evidence of a badger attack." AdderFlight noticed MountainDew's eyes on BadgerKit. "That's a shame but my kit has nothing to do with it." The she snapped, pulling all her kittens closer. "Please, AdderFlight? You'll only have to two moons, then he'll be an apprentice." AdderFlight snorted. "Fine. I'll take care of him." MountainDew's face lit up. "Thank you so much! his name is MesaKit." AdderFlight watched the tom leave the den, an apprentice sized kit quickly walking up to him and speaking out of earshot.
