So, I like marching band. And I’ve done 1 season as a prop kid (we got 1st in 3 out of the 5 innovationals we did, 2nd in ISSMA Regionals, 11th in BOA Super Regionals, 5th in ISSMA State Finals, and top 36 in BOA Grand Nationals). I also love to write music. So, I thought ,“How about I make a marching band show for my band for my senior year?”. I then decided to do so, and here’s what I have. Show information: Show title - Burning Bright (Named after the 3rd part of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451”) Show Tagline - “Exceptionalism is Birthed Through Fire” Written By - @That_Caledonian-652 & @UrLocalPannier812 Show Theme - Be proud of who you are, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise (and love yourself) Repertoire - This show will feature “What Child is This?” by William Chatterton Dix “Mars” by Gustav Holst "Metropolis 1927” by Peter Graham "Dramatico" by Robert W. Smith Show Inspiration - The Santa Clara Vanguard's 2018 DCI (Drum Corps International, which is a world-wide marching band competition, but it's only brass and percussion, with the finals being held at Lucas Oil Stadium) show "Babylon" The [Here School Mascot] Pride’s 2025 ISSMA show "[Marching Show Name]"(not doxxing my school, but if you’re curious, I’m sure you could find out… just keep it yourself, ya creep) The Avon Marching Black and Gold's 2025 ISSMA show "Axiom" (this show is mainly a petty comeback to what this show had the potential to be) The Carmel High School Marching Greyhounds' 2025 ISSMA show "La Arena" (loved the show, and want to make it better)
Also, don't worry, I'll be posting all my marching band stuff, but not on this account, if you want to stay updated, follow @CalLucasOilStadium (yes, I hate the pun too, but it's better than "That_One_Shako-652" or "That_Caledonian-653"). And here’s the story is anyone’s curious: Story (part 1) - Burning Bright paints the picture of the initial struggle to stand out from the crowd- to be freely yourself without judgement, and society’s rejection of uniqueness. Story (part 2)- Then, it shows into the light of exceptionalism starting to be crushed, and the start of conforming to society’s restricting standards. Story (part 3)- After that, when almost all hope is lost, and almost full conformity has come into effect, a spark of nonadherence and self discovery starts to ignite. Story (part 4)- Then spark then spreads like wild fire, as society’s strict standards are loosened, and everyone learns that we are all different. All we need is a little spark, and the chance to burn bright. If any band nerds are interested, hit me up, I’ll take as many people as I can get; so it can show us all, burning bright.
