If you have been a fan of the COD games for as long as I have, you know that Infinite Warfare was the WORST RATED game of all time in the series... due to it being literally the THIRD jetpack game in a row following BO3 and AW... we.. rlly weren't happy then -_- But underneath the terrible multiplayer and campaign lies a truly unexpected experience... a zombies mode... MADE BY INFINITY WARD AND NOT TREYARCH! the last time we got a side mode from Infinity Ward was the Extinction mode in COD Ghosts with the Cryptids/Aliens setting them apart from Treyarch with Zombies in the Black Ops sub-series. But with Infinite Warfare they went with their OWN approach to zombies... which if you give a chance... is prolly the most CREATIVE AND FUN experiences in Zombies. The game follows with our Antagonist Willard Wyler, a crazed horror film director who put his victims INTO his horror movies, and thats where we get to our crew in this game, AJ, Poindexter, Sally, and Andre... whose personalities/attire change to reflect the role they are playing in the film. EACH map representing a different horror genre and timeline. Zombies In Spaceland being an 80's thriller Rave in the Redwoods, a 90's slasher film Shaolin Shuffle, a 70's action film Attack of the Radioactive Thing, a homage to those 50's/60's Godzilla type monster movies. and Beast from Beyond, a Sci-Fi horror. Every map is so incredibly unique from one another and are AMAZING to play... other than Beast from Beyond which... I DON'T GET WHY MOST FINALE MAPS IN ZOMBIES SUCK, WTH. The game doesn't stray far from the mechanics of Black Ops 3, 3 hit down, sliding, etc... but you have FIVE perk slots instead of 4, and you can get rid of perks mid game if you want to swap it for another. and the perks are renamed/stylized to fit in with the games theme! Instead of perk drinks, they're candies or snacks you get like in a movie theater! Juggernog becoming Tuff 'Nuff, Staminup becoming Racin' Stripes, Quick Revive becoming Up n' Atoms... etc. The Gobblegums are replaced by Fate & Fortune cards, which instead of buying outright, you have a meter you fill to end up using one in your deck of YOUR CHOICE instead of it being random, in order to use a card twice you simply go to a station to pay 3k points to refill your deck, and it's MUCH less broken than Gobblegum. Now the part I REALLY wanted to get to to finish this review... this game has the BEST Super Easter Egg ever. If you beat all 5 Maps' Easter Eggs... you unlock Directors Cut Mode... which toggles on and off and gives you ALL THE PERKS IN THE GAME, 25000 STARTING POINTS, AND EVERY WEAPON YOU GET FROM THE MYSTERY WHEEL ARE DOUBLE PACK A PUNCHED! and thats not even IT.... if you beat all the maps AGAIN in Directors Cut Mode... you unlock the Mephistopheles boss fight who is the TRUE villain this whole time who took Willards soul and taken advantage of him when he signed it off to him. This is the HARDEST BOSS IN ALL OF ZOMBIES, HAVING 7 PHASES AND NEARLY EVERY ATTACK HE DOES RED-SCREENS OR INSTA KILLS YOU. But defeating him however will grant you the ability to play as Willard Wyler himself in Spaceland, having a dagger that kills zombies instantly until Scene(round) 33... the ability to play as the set celebrity in each map... and the Directors Cut Mastery camo for EVERY gun in the game, which looks absolutely stunning. This games' Zombies mode is probably hands down the MOST UNDERRATED mode in all the games, and in my opinion the BEST Non-Treyarch zombies entry to date. and after playing each of the maps, I'll say rn Spaceland is now in my Top 5 :> and i'm doing this Super EE now god help me.
