DCRC SD40-2 8042 and newly painted sibling 7889 lead a power move consisting of the two aforementioned units, DCRC SD40T-2 8270 (which was painted into a patriotic scheme for America's 250th anniversary) and SP SD45T-2 6819. All three units were painted earlier this month at the Hood Transload Facility by a third party painter. The paint schemes were created with feedback from local communities along the DCRC's lines and were finalized in November of last year. On January 18th, all three units were shown off to the public at the CSRM, here they are on the last leg of the journey as they enter Old Sacramento. SP 6819 was tagged along on the power move as DCRC had leased it for a week while the units were out.
