Excerpt (Hallows Eve, one year after the Delphini incident): Albus Potter sat on his bed, staring at the floor as memories of the past year crowded his mind. He had been so blind, so reckless, that his father had nearly died. All because of his—and Scorpius’s—desperate need to be heroes. Well, *his* desperate need. Everyone saw him as Harry Potter’s Slytherin son, the one who had nearly unleashed the Dark Lord again by trusting the wrong person. But before all that, he was just Harry Potter’s son, living in the shadow of his father and older brother. He had only wanted to prove himself, to show that he wasn’t defined by their names. He hadn’t meant for any of this to happen. A sharp knock on the door broke through his spiraling thoughts. “Come in!” he called, hastily adjusting the expression on his face. Harry stepped inside, carrying the burnt baby blanket, carrying out his promise from nearly over a year ago. The moment he saw Albus’s face, concern flared in his eyes. Without a word, he crossed the room and sat on the bed beside him, the mattress dipping under his weight. He set the blanket aside. “Al, talk to me,” Harry said softly—not with demand, but with patience, gentleness, understanding. Albus lifted his eyes, their green mirroring Harry’s. “It’s just… how… she was a—” His voice caught, too heavy with guilt to continue. Harry didn’t need words; he already understood. “Al, she was a Riddle,” Harry said. “There was no way to know who she truly was. It’s not your fault.” Albus’s voice cracked. “Dad… you didn’t even *exist*.” They’d had this conversation before, countless times, but today the weight of it pressed harder than ever. Harry’s hand came to his son’s shoulder, firm yet comforting. “Albus Severus Potter, you made a mistake. A huge one. But you did it because you believed you were saving someone’s life. And you corrected it. It’s done. It’s in the past.” Tears shimmered in Albus’s green eyes as he leaned into his father, whispering, “I love you, Dad.” Harry lowered his voice to match, holding him close. “I love you too, Al. I love you too.” (Side note: Sorry if this isn't the best, or doesn't have the best context, not entirely accurate, doesn't match the video thing, or whatever is wrong with it in your opinion. I just wanted to create a project showing how important Harry Potter is to people, and how important people in your life are. Just be yourself. If you make mistakes, that's okay. And if people don't like you for who you are, ignore them. They don't deserve to be your friend if they don't like you for who you are. I would like to thank some of the most important people in my life, including my family, my friends, my teachers, and all of the people who have supported me, such as aka Jamie for always being there for me, my friend Lily S, and more. I really hope you enjoyed this project and have a great rest of your day/night.)
I have been a Harry Potter fan for...as long as I can remember. It has been my home. It helped me through difficult times and still does. I may not agree with the author's opinions on...certain subjects, but I would like to thank her, just this once, for creating this amazing book series where hundreds of people have found shelter and a home in.
