Disclaimer: This project isn't hate towards scratchers, a specific scratcher, or the aesthetic community. It's simply my take on it now and why I'd prefer to not be a part of it anymore. Hi, this is a rant about the aesthetic community and why I think it's not as good as many people think it is. Honestly, after seeing the interactions between people in the aesthetic community, the drama, and rants about it, the whole concept of this "aesthetic community" is unique, but to me, it's really not something you should do on scratch... there's so many things about it that make it unsuitable for scratch and I've listed many reasons down below on why. From my point of view, sometimes I wonder if there's even a point of posting these "aesthetic" projects when literally no one will care unless you're popular or if you have that super crowded and detailed banner style that everyone loves so much, which is honestly so overrated now no offense. It just sucks to see ppl put so much effort into their projects with their unique style and different project ideas just for them to get 5 views while a popular scratcher can post the most unoriginal basic project like every other person and manage to get 100 views in less than a day... why? I really miss how simple the aesthetic comm was back in 2021-2023 when you didn't need that crazy, crowded banner style just to manage to get at least 20 views.. And not to miss the fact that the aesthetic comm is basically turning scratch into social media with all of these projects that literally have no code (I'm aware that I'm doing this right now but as you can see, this isn't even an actual project but rather a rant, I'm just trying to address an issue here), and don't even get me started on this "s-pop" stuff. This is no music industry, it's a simple kid's coding website. I'm really not trying to be a hater I swear, but I don't understand the point of doing all of this on a CODING website. To me it's hypocritical if you're gonna post a project with no code on a CODING website because respectfully, you're basically ruining the purpose of it (again, I'm aware this project has no code, but all I'm doing is addressing an issue here because this is just a rant). If you really just want to spend your time making banners or talking to people, please go on an ACTUAL social media app. Of course I'm not saying everyone should stop being aesthetic or only create games, that's not my point. I'm aware that the aesthetic community works so hard on their project thumbnails, descriptions, and etc, which I love because it makes me happy to see everyone's type of creativity and it also inspires me, but my point is that as of now, most of us are just so unoriginal and uncreative now with the same boring projects, same banner styles, and even same personalities. A lot of people also just take code from other projects and apply it to their own which is similar to my last point, we're so unoriginal now. It's sad to see what my one of my favorite childhood websites became. I miss when we all created these cute projects for fun in our own way. The community is also kind of toxic. Every time a scratcher gets into beef with another scratcher, they feel the need to make a whole project about it and say "REPORT ". If you do this, please stop. You're only making the situation worse for yourself and other people. Just kindly ask the person to stop and if they don't, please report them yourself and move on.. there's no need to have your entire group of followers criticize their every move and torment the person all because you said so, this will only make the drama and toxicity worse because it's spreading it. A lot of people in the aesthetic community are also a bit greedy for fame and followers too.. like r we seriously bidding for banners? Sorry, but to me, it's a complete waste of time. I've seen so many people ignore other scratchers too and only talk to popular ones, what happened to basic decency and kindness towards everyone? If you're not someone who's fond of talking to others for reasons, that's ok, but purposely ignoring a non-popular scratcher for a popular scratcher to reach their same level of fame is just rude, just treat everyone kindly, it's the bare minimum. I contemplate all the time if it's even worth staying on this website anymore. After reading back on this, I realized that I used to be just like this, except I'm trying to change now and now that I look at it, I'll just stop being active overall because it's getting tiring to see people put together a thumbnail, description, no code, and call it a project, or seeing the same code over and over in every project. But overall, this is my take on the aesthetic community and why my view on it really changed after admiring it for so long. So yea, overall I'm just going to stop posting now because I absolutely have no ideas and with how flawed this entire community is, I have no interest on being here anymore.
