Hey can I just complain for a little bit rq So I HATE the iready diagnostic it’s already stressful by itself, but then they base which class ur in off of it. I have been put in the wrong class multiple times because I did good on the iready, and then I don’t understand anything in the actual class. I personally think they should base it of how little or how much someone struggles in class. I’m sure plenty of other kids have also been put In the wrong classes because of this. In 4th and 5th grade I have been in the wrong math class. I have had multiple breakdowns in the middle of class in both years. In 4th grade I asked to move classes. What did they do? Nothing. I’m supposed to be learning 5th and 6th grade math at the same time and I can’t even divide at all. I can hardly multiply. I can’t even add without counting on my fingers.now I have to divide fractions/decimals, convert measurements in unholy equations, and all sorts of other crazy things. And when you don’t know something and you are visibly struggling, people just tell you “oh, it’s easy!”, or “It’s not even that hard!” Or just look at you like you’re a complete idiot and a failure. Every time, I get put in the advanced math class. I SUCK at math. And the teachers don’t help either. Don’t get me wrong I love my math teacher. I loved my 4th grade math teacher too. But if you voice that you’re struggling they explain it the exact same way you just said you don't understand. I swear to god sometimes during math I have to go to the bathroom just so I don’t break down right there in class. Anyways I hope someone relates but idk I’m just so done with it Yk? UPDATE —————————————————————————- at conferences my teacher said that I was below grade level in math but they put me in advanced math anyway so that explains something
