Story: The Origami King: Remember My Name begins with a custom ending. To access this ending, you’d have to assemble the Final Magic Circle in Phase 3 of the King Olly fight with less than five seconds left on the countdown. Everything would go as normal (Olly reading the Craftsman's message, dying, the Craftsman arriving and helping Olivia fold the last crane, etc.), up until when Olivia is about to make her wish. She would decide to give her wish to Mario instead. Since Mario is a silent protagonist, his wish is not heard, however, it would reveal his wish was for a happy ending. (Basically that's just the normal ending but Olivia and Olly are still alive.) Olly would join you (he stays "reformed" as he did when he read the message that the Craftsman wrote on him in the ending before he...you know), allowing for a lot of humorous interactions. However, not all is right - this stems from Orson, a third origami figure made by the Origami Craftman…’s mailman, who accidentally used the Fold of Life when goofing off with some paper and origami. Now, during the events of The Origami King, there’d be a running gag where Orson, who would be found in optional places to go throughout the game, talks to some people, and in one case, you and Olivia, but NO ONE REMEMBERS HIS NAME, frustrating him. (Because he was created by the Mailman, not the Origami Craftsman, he isn’t related to Olivia or Olly. However, he has a crush on Olivia, something she’s completely oblivious to - because of this he thinks she doesn't return his feelings.) Alternately sometimes they instead get his name wrong. The story is after the wish thing (and end of the main story), eventually Orson comes to Luigi with a deal - they journey to defeat the four Vellumentals a second time. Both benefit from this, as he points out - Luigi gains more courage and the admiration of his brother, and Orson gains the Vellumentals' powers, as Olivia did before him, and finally is noticed and remembered. They do so flawlessly - however, while Luigi finally is no longer the underdog, and Mario congratulates him, Orson is ignored. The game would then switch to Olivia - who went to search for Orson after he floated off, panicking due to the realization he'll never be noticed. Olivia can talk to Toads around the Kingdom, and they'll give her one of the eight ordinal directions that is closest to where he went - the Musee Champignon. Once finally found, he'll go on a brief monologue. He states he was wrong to believe that someone would remember him from fame, and says he has one option that will finally make everyone remember him forever...that option being striking fear into everyone's hearts, permanently engraving his name into their minds. Once he finishes his monologue, a battle would begin - however, the battle is a hopeless fight, as while Orson DOES leave Magic Circles on the battlefield, he doesn't give Olivia an ON Panel to activate them with, meaning no matter what, Olivia has no form of attack. She will black out upon reaching 1 HP. She wakes up to the Mushroom Kingdom once again in ruins - as a castle floats in the skyline, ensnared by a streamer - an orange one - the Origami Castle II (the first one being Olly's, of course). Olly and Mario reunite with Olivia, and you once again gain control of Mario. Mario then would have to go on an entire side-quest to beat the guardians of the Orange Streamer - Eraser and Notebook. After that, the castle is unlocked, and Mario sets off to fight Orson himself. Orson, enraged, doesn't hold back during the fight. His Phase 1 has him surround himself with Folded Soldiers on some sides. In order to damage him, you'd have to hit him from the sides NOT blocked by Folded Soldiers. He'd also place used tiles into the chests, similar to Tape. His Phase 2 acts very similar to King Olly's, however he stamps one ON Panel with a "FRAGILE" stamp, meaning it can only activate once, then it breaks. You'd have to get more ON Panels from chests. His Phase 3 allows him to fold into cardboard-colored silhouette versions of Mario's allies and enemies, and use their attacks.
(Cont.) Orson is unbeatable in this state due to a stash of Flashy Mushrooms hidden away, that he'll use as soon as he hits 1 HP or less. After 5 turns of a seemingly hopeless fight, a pink heart magic circle would appear, making progression possible. It takes 5 consecutive ON panels to activate. When activated, it would allow Olivia to talk to Orson for a bit. After a while of talking Orson and reasoning with him, Olivia eventually remembers a few memories of past encounters with him, and remembers his name, causing him to realize that someone DOES remember him. His form shifts into random allies, then back into himself. His colors come back, and the battle ends. He apologizes for his actions, and promises to make things right. (Then there'd be credits and a lotta post-game cutscenes, you know the deal-) The game would timeskip a week, where Orson has finished clean-up and reparations, and become a baker. He could then be refought (albeit on much more friendly terms) at any time by talking to him and selecting an option for that. (He can't be refought using the Bossotronic.) He also would bring up that he's working with Olly in secret to, perhaps, make less-violent, less-evil versions of the Legion of Stationery...who knows? Maybe they'll succeed. ...yeah that's the whole story. Game-wise, that is. And this gives PM:TOK a post-game, unlike most Paper Mario games, so that's a bonus. Appearance: Pre-RMN: Light-beige "skin", cardboard-brown hair, a small white paper hat with letters on it (presumably it's a list, likely a grocery or package list), a dark blue postal uniform, two red boots (that Olivia gave him one day as a gift for his birthday - he's never taken them off) with a blue "FRAGILE" stamp on the left one "Villain Arc / Vengeful!Orson": Similar to Pre-RMN, but now has an orange glow in his eyes, and orange envelope "wings" Post-RMN: Similar to Pre-RMN, but now has a baby blue "LICENSED BAKER" apron on top of his uniform, and has a chef's hat instead of a paper hat Random Facts: Since Olivia's and Olly's designs were all Japanese-focused in some way, and Orson was made by the Origami Craftsman's MAILMAN, not the guy himself, Orson's design is more American-focused and "average" than the other two's! Notebook is the goofy one, loving to create living drawings (with the intent to damage Mario), and Eraser is the serious one, causing destruction, and "refining" Notebook's drawings by erasing unneeded lines. Notebook is Eraser's daughter. Notebook actually IS capable of creating non-deadly drawings - it's simply that whatever she CAN draw comes to life. Orson always mimics Mario in Turn 1 of Phase 3, and always mimics Bobby in Turn 5. Every other turn is randomized.
