It is approaching early evening as you stand in line in the crowded, dimly lit room, surrounded by tributes and stylists alike, the latter of whom are shuffling around awkwardly, making their final adjustments to your outfit. Every few minutes or so, the line progresses forward, and a tribute walks out of the entrance silently- it is almost your turn. Though it is difficult to hear over the sounds of zippers and hushed orders, a loudspeaker above clicks and calls your name. Moments later, the door opens, and staff members usher you inside, where you are met with warm, turquoise beams of light streaming from the ceiling above. A salty breeze travels throughout the room, and silhouettes of fish and other creatures slowly pass along each wall. Smiling, you pad across the stage, taking note of the massive crowd and your interviewer, who introduces you before you take your seats. Their questions are pointed, purposeful. As you answer them one by one, the lights and silhouettes in the room grow darker until it is impossible to see even the interviewer before you. Answer wisely...after all, who knows what may lie in the dark? Write a short closed roleplay based on the prompt/description provided above to be entered. Interviews are your tribute's first personal encounter with Capitol citizens and an opportunity for these citizens to learn more about them personally, which, with a good interview, boosts your tribute's chances of sponsorships in the arena. The interview is based on a hidden rubric out of five points, which means that your tribute's interactions with the environment matter more than the quality of writing. Interviews will be due 1/27 at the end of the day. You will likely receive a grade in the following week. Extensions are not offered as all training events are optional; this is a hard deadline to ensure the round goes by smoothly without mods having to backtrack and possibly extend the training time. Do not forget: you must remix this project, with your tribute's name first in the title, and post your entry to be considered. Otherwise, your entry will not be read or graded. Please also place your tribute's name and District above your interview entry to help us grade!
