Hello its minnie and in today's article I wanted to be a bit helpful ! If you have been wanting to get into songwriting here's a guide ! I have some tips of my own and tips from other amazing people. 1 . by @yveiled ( how to start a song or find inspo ) When I like to songwrite i find a key lyric or word for example : KEYWORD : broken doll house LYRIC :Who knew a small lock of gold hair could ever look so brown ( idk what im doing 0 KEYWORD :Lost memories LYRIC : A missing piece of a story long gone. 2 . by @elunarie ( her process on songwriting ) i find an interesting beat (or make one, if you're a producer) and try to mumble along a tune to make sure that the song will come naturally. then i come up with a standout line (e.g. from firework it was 'light your firework', from mirror it was 'do you think about me every time you look into your mirror' and for nlwymm it was 'you know it's all your fault, yeah, you made me feel so crazy', etc.) and base the song around that! i try to rhyme, as it really helps the song to feel complete and tied in. sometimes lyrics will just come to you, if you're writing about something that is relatable or interesting to you. while it's fun to write about personal experiences, i find it hard sometimes so writing about confidence or other fun stuff is great too! it's also super interesting to write about non-personal experiences, or from the pov of someone else. it's really up to you! i almost never write the song in start to end order, just write the most interestingg parts and get everything written down before filing in and refining! 3. by @dolphin_branding ( how to get around songwriter block ) in my personal opinion the best way to overcome songwriter's block is just to keep writing! you'll make some lyrics you hate but eventually something will stick! it's always going to be different for everyone though so this may not work for you. 4 . by @xx_labs ( adding on to what rubie said ) to emphasize / add on to what rubie said , dont force yourself to write lyrics you aren’t happy with ! you don’t like a part in a song just leave it blank for now and don’t be stressed about coming back to it until you feel like you can create something YOU will be happy with
Tips are from the following : @elunarie @dolphin_branding @yveiled @xx_labs
