Some designs for mages who are now deceased! I basically just looked through the graft cores of a bunch of people. these are NON-CANON! If you'd like to make your own designs for any of the cores shown here then feel free! Some lore! Also probably non-canon. MURMURATION: A peaceful flock that lived on a rock far from Pendia's shores. It ate fish, and slept in caves. Anathema was sent to harvest it's core by their creators. THE ALCHEMIST: A creator of potions, and a brilliant spellcrafter. Anathema was sent to harvest her core by their creators. The two of them fought for months, but eventually Anathema won by collapsing her tower while she was still inside. CUTTERSNIPE: A hunter who roamed the marshes alone. He was known to pursue any creature he had wounded until it fell. He met his end sealed in a coffin in the bog. CRULTH: An ancient creature, from the early days of Pendia. It's core was found embedded in a cliff-face on the desert coast. HIGHEST OPERATOR: Ancient and powerful, it was revered by the people around it as a solver of any logical problem, and a creator of intricate puzzles. It's core was placed within a tomb that was ITSELF a puzzle, but they did not account for a protean being such as Mutat simply oozing in. GRIS: This horrible monster lived in the mountains. Even being close to it was said to strike you down with grief. It wept for all those it had slain, and the cores of many a traveler have been swept into rivers and distributed throughout the marshes. TWITCHING SPIRE-WRAITH: Horrid parasite of the Sanctum. This flickering, jittering, unpredictable foe was a constant nuisance, until it realized too late that no amount of instinct could stop a bomb. THE TOMBCUTTER: A Revenant of ages past, who carved the cores of the deceased from their graves. They were slain in battle, and their core sunk into the soft sediment to be rediscovered many years later. APOTHEOSIC SLIVER: Strange beast of a far isle. It claimed to be as powerful as a god. Evidently it was not. ASPID: A ever-growing ball of armor. It had to be struck down mere days after it formed, lest it became an indestructible, all-crushing blight. It is said it wept, but understood why it needed to die. CHARM-CASTING BEAST: Barely able to speak, a dull creature it was. But it could control those smarter than it to aid it. It lived for many years, until a sharp-eyed Sanctum scholar saw through it's lies and struck it down [NOT CANON.] THE ETERNAL EGG: It numbered amongst the oldest cores in Pendia. Every 40 years it would hatch into a new form, and live a new life for the next century, before returning to its egg and waiting another 40 years. It was an ever-changing thing, a wonder of the world. A shame then, that those in the skies decided it was to be slain. They hid it's core deep, yet they did not account for echolocation when doing so... ???: The [TAX] core was a creature much like Anathema was. A simple thing that made a form from the stolen and amalgamated power of others. But, without the opportunity for Exaltation, it was merely a obstacle, one that had no answer to being split open. ASTERISM: An ancient thing, this. A horrid creature, evil to the point of excess. She built up her organization, Harvest, from nothing time and time again. Always they would seem slain, but always she would somehow survive and start over... She would tear the core from any mage foolish enough not to run at the sight of her. She had no real friends, no family, no connections at all. Instead, Asterism spent her time hoarding harvested cores, and manipulating people into helping her. She was very old, VERY powerful, and utterly without mercy, compromise, or honor. Killing her was possibly the Arbiter's most altruistic action. CHARNEL RED: A member of Harvest. A simple, violent creature that enjoyed nothing more than peeling the cores from their foes. It carved through a thousand lives, leaving a red streak behind it as it went. A shimmering bladed feather upon the wheel of violence... COGITARRE: One of the most intelligent beings in Pendia, and a member of Harvest. It sought cores that would help it in it's quest: to fully understand consciousness and thought. Anathema was the pinnacle of their craft, intellect and boundless emergence granted to a creature simpler than a coral. Yet, they never cared an iota for their creation.
