So, you might have read the new terms of service. Scratch will be using the artwork and code of its users to train generative ai. The AI will be used to generate images, (likely) code, and coding advice. If you, like I, are a human, you see that this is disgraceful. They are feeding the hard work of children to a robot when many of its users are too young to understand they are being stolen from. So what will I do about this? Most social media platforms use ai right now, so it doesn't make much of a difference if I leave. but this one is using MY hard work to feed their machines of avarice, so i'm a bit conflicted (others might as well, I haven't read their TOS yet). I am here cause I want to see how much I can do with my art and how well I can collect an audience. I want to see what I am capable of. But if I have to give my work to support the growth of something that goes against my values, then it makes it worthless. Scratch might not implement the ai. It was proposed last year and they turned it down. But in the case that they do, I will consider leaving. Have a great day, I wish luck to those leaving, and remember to eat the rich!
sorry about the image, I made it with a trackpad. its still a hundred times better than anything a dumb robot makes tho.
