(https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1269751874 for more information) EDIT: changed TN because the old one was mad lazy I'll be adding updates as I recieve new info. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE 1: Ok so I was just notified that the Scratch Team moderators were NOT aware of this update, as they were never notified about this change, meaning it was the higherups (Leadership and Board of Directors) who made this change without notifying anyone. This is BAD. How do we expect to trust a corporation with our data if they make changes behind our backs? Please don't attack the ST moderators though, they've been through enough already and had to handle reports on a situation they weren't notified of. </3 UPDATE 2: Based on @SkyCedar's project, it seems that Scratch won't be using generative image for the AI, which is slightly better. However, we still don't have an option to opt out of Scratch using our projects to train the AI, meaning it'll still be used for coding and such, which could replace good coders. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok so we (yes we) all somehow woke up this morning to a popup telling us to agree to Scratch's TOS right? Well, they gave us NO ANNOUNCEMENT whatsoever and then decided to shove this in our face, not regarding the CHANGES that come with this. 1. If you are under 18, you have to provide information about yourself like the state you're from. This is BAD, especially considering this is a HUGE privacy risk and in case of a data breach, all of our data would basically be leaked. Considering that the website is really buggy, I wouldn't be suprised if this happened. 2. [THE FOLLOWING REASON IS OUTDATED] Using OUR art to train the AI. ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW ST. I thought Scratch was about posting creativity and showing it to others, not stealing it and allowing others to use AI to copy it. Rather than fixing their broken website and listening to the community, they rather focus on Scratch Membership and AI. At this point, Scratch is like Roblox now: both companies are causing their own downfall, and they won't listen to their consumers. I still don't want to leave this site considering I still have more stuff I want to do on here, but if it continues to get worse, well lets say I won't have any other choice. I guaranteed you that ST is going to take down all of these projects complaing about the update though, including this.
