I have heard plenty about the new AI addition to Scratch. So, I thought I would share my remarks. Please read IT ALL THE WAY and read cautiously and don’t take it personally. AI is not good. If I had some words to describe AI, I would say Naive, Reckless, Dangerous. AI has been especially Trained to have many abilities by humans such as, Very high speed, machine learning, web scraping and Of course, HIGH KNOWLEDGE. And the Limited License Grant states there is NO GUARANTEE our information WILL BE PROTECTED from the internet. It also says this is COMMERCIAL AI, which could include our data (such as Emails, Parents Emails, Projects, location) in ONLINE datasets. AI is naive, or unexperienced. It will do just about anything. Including upload data to the internet. The AI “assistant” is supposed to only make recommendations. However, plenty of AI companies have a history of behind closed doors, selling information to companies. Some seven TRAIN the AI to TRANSPORT THE DATA to third-party sources. Even though MIT is very trustworthy and the Scratch team as well, the AI may be provided from an outside source such as Gemini, Open AI, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot. And those AI’s may send data to the internet and to third party sources. In conclusion, this is concerning.
PLEASE DO NOT REPORT. I AM TRYING TO SPREAD KNOWLEDGE. THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO SCARE ANYONE!! Yes, that’s my OC in the thumbnail.
