PLEASE read these for info, they explain the situation very well and this is a really important matter for all Scratch users to be aware of !!! - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1269751874/ https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1269689951/ PLEASE DO NOT ATTACK ANY OF THE SCRATCH TEAM MEMBERS ABOUT THIS!!! They cannot do anything as they're here for moderation and don't write the Terms of Service! So as of January 22nd, Scratch has updated its Terms of Service, and boy oh boy is it... interesting, I guess could be a word for it. Most of it's normal, but the part that stuck out was the fact that by agreeing to the ToS, everything you post could be used to train AI. There's no opting out. Now, to my knowledge, Scratch is not going to implement generative AI features into the site, but this is still unsettling Honestly the ToS talks about the use of AI a lot and it's. Not comforting, to say the least ghelp Again, please read the other projects as they have a much more in-depth description on what's going on!!! I'm simply posting this to spread awareness :'D So, my thoughts on the matter. I don't know how to feel to be completely honest. I love this site, I've made so many friends on here and have created so many things, and the idea of moving on from that is hard help- but I also realize that a lot of my friends and inspirations on this site have moved on, and I'm still here with nothing really keeping me other than this being a hobby of mine and a main creative outlet. And the thought that all the love and effort put into the art I post, can now just be fed into a machine that'll simply grind it up and puke out some soulless amalgamation made of mine and other people's stolen artworks, well, that's not a good thought. (It's not only ethically wrong, but also really bad for the environment!!! I don't really feel like elaborating on why it's so bad, so I encourage you to do some research on the matter if you aren't already aware of the problems with generative AI) The reason I've stayed this long posting things is BECAUSE there was less worries about my art being used by AI. But that's over now I guess </3 Basically, I think it may be finally time for me to leave. Or at least stop posting things. My interest in this site has been waning for a while now, and I had hoped that when I did decide to leave it would be on a whim rather than kind of forced. I had also hoped to keep all my projects up but I might take down a bunch of, if not all of them. I will also no longer be posting new art that I make on Scratch. Don't worry, though! I'll set up camp on other sites hopefully, and when I do I'll probably post an announcement on all the places you can find me :) Because of this I'm looking for places I can post my art and animations without much worry of it being buried by AI art or being fed into it, so if you have any suggestions I'll gladly check them out! (I hear TH is decent?) If I do post that project, please do not find me on those sites if you are under 13!! I'll reiterate this in the description when I share it but I'm putting it here first just as a heads up. I might not fully leave Scratch for a while, you'll probably see me lurking in comment sections or replying to comments a bunch. Just do not expect any new posts. Man this is actually dookie though because I had so much stuff planned to do on here for 2026 D: Whatever happens, on the internet or in real life, stay safe, and be kind. Love you guys <3 /plat
