I keep trying to search what OCCI2's name is (phosgene* but made with Iodine instead of Chlorine) cause I was curious, but the stupid thing keeps giving me results for chlorine when it clearly shows CI not Cl (CI v cl, you think the computer that can only read in number would see the difference between L and I but nope) The closest thing I got was diatomic Iodine ;-; Google why u so mean bruh T-T
@Colorsnatch 4 code *Phosgene is a chemical warfare agent and is also sometimes made accidentally, with extremely few survivors of its vapor. It attacks your lungs and creates all sorts of health problems, like acid buildup in your body, (from lack of O2 and CO2 exchange) and lung fluid buildup. I got most/all of this info from a video by Chubbyemu (YouTube), but it’s still fascinating nonetheless. Once it’s in, you’re kinda done for, since it binds really strongly and quickly. More nerdy stuff below hehe If you’re interested in its shape (and origin of this google search), it's trigonal pyramidal (think fidget spinner, but the ends are angled down a bit). In the center is a carbon atom bonded to two chlorines and double-bonded to one oxygen. There is also its evil, terrifying sounding twin: fluorophosgene, same as phosgene but the chlorines are replaced by fluorines. AND THAT GOT ME THINKING: what about other halogens? Like bromine and iodine? After countless failed attempts, my closest success was I2 (i2), diatomic Iodine, nowhere near my answer T-T. If anyone knows I would be deeply grateful :D
